Do you drink soda/pop?

LikeaRock

...Dreaming on an E92....
In light of Joyrride's recent energy drink review, I decided to make a thread and see who here is a soda/pop drinker and who doesn't drink much of it or none at all.

I myself used to drink at least 6 cans a day, about 2 years ago I started cutting it out and for about 9 months I didn't drink any at all. I started drinking more and more juice, bottled water, things like that. About the only time I drink soda now is when there's nothing else to drink minus tap water. I drink a lot of Gatorade, various juices, or stop into Juice Shack and grab a smoothie. I drink a lot of fluids throughout the day (I've gone through a pack of Capri-Suns before 2:00 when working on hot days) so I figured soda wasn't doing much in the way of keeping me hydrated. I know cutting soda out made me drop a few pounds too

I drink a few now and then...mainly I drink water while detailing and lots of it...

LOL @ "pop".

Being a NorEaster, we only use the word "soda". When I went to visit some friends/relatives in Ohio, we quickly were in for some laughs.

I usually have a cocktail at night containing some soda (usually coke or ginger ale). Other than that, I like coffee, green tea, vitamin water, pelligrino, and a couple others.

Yes, Yes I do. Entirely too much of it in fact. Perhaps its time for me to quit (again.. :) ) I'm not sure if I could even wake up in the morning without caffeine, and I hate the taste of coffee. Maybe I oughtta start cutting my intake in half every week till I'm off it.

I try and stick to water and juices. I might have one maybe two cans of diet soda in a day, but for the most part I rty not to drink. I drank a tremendous amount of soda when I was a kid. I try to stay away from it.

to be honest....I was going to make a thread about addictions. What you are addicted too......I was going to put Soda.

I am seriously addicted to soda. No joke. I dunno if it sounds crazy, but I am. I can stop for a few days, but I have the urge to drink it so freaking bad. I drink anywhere from 1 soda to a 12 pack or more in a day. I do not drink it while detailing though.....

I know I would feel better if I can step it down to maybe just one a day or less........I just cannot stop. I smoke cigs, but can stop smoking for days on end and not get an urge..

Anyone think this is wierd?

I don't know what the deal is......

I used to drink Coke all the time...would drink it not only with meals, but at rando throughout the day. I had a small health issue 4 or 5 years back and got nervous, so I cut the soda 100% cold turkey and switched to strictly water and iced tea. Over the years I slowly went back to soda once in a while...usually just for dinner, 1 can a night and even then would typically not drink the whole can.

Then, 6 months ago or so my wife and I started on Weight Watchers, so I switched to Coke Zero, although I still typically drink tea and water.

But lately, as I mentioned in the other thread, I'm addicted big-time to sugar free Red Bull. So nowadays thats all I drink is Red Bull, water or iced tea with a Coke Zero on rare occasion for dinner only.

Ohio(Cincinnati) here and we are pop drinkers. I love Coke(not diet) but don't drink much of it.

I occasionally drink a Coke mixed with Johnny Black, or I drink a Sprite when my stomach is upset. Other than that I drink at least a gallon of water a day and a little Gatorade.

P.S. Every time I fly I drink a Ginger Ale. :)

P.S.S. In Texas, every soda or pop is referred to ask a coke, no matter its brand name.

I go threw a 12-pack of Diet Pepsi everyday. I drink it mostly out of convenience. When we have bottle water, I drink that instead. After a day of pounding soda, right before bed (like now), I'll drink about 150oz of water. I know this can't be too healthy.

I am addicted to coke (the drink that is) and luckly for me I was able to switch to Coke Zero...the calories alone in regular coke along with the sugar were making very hard to maintain weight loss.

I used to drink way too much soda. Once my doctor prescribed a blood pressure medication, I cut back drastically. I didn't get the prescription filled, but decided to make a change in the way I ate and exercised.

My blood pressure and waist line both approved of the decision.

I am thoroughly smiling now after reading all of your replies. Some of you made me laugh out loud. lol In Florida too we call it soda or Coke (regardless of brand or flavor). I've heard people ask, "What flavor coke you want?"

I don't think it's weird to get addicted to coke. It's got caffeine and sugar two things many people are addicted to. For me personally being Cuban and growing up with our infamously strong coffee I always have struggled with an addiction to caffeine. I know I would be better off without it in my life and have tried many times to kick it. I can go for awhile and go through the headaches and withdrawals only to go back on it again after a few weeks. And how about chocolate?? That's another one for sugar and caffeine addiction. I know many many women who are truly addicted to chocolate (myself included! sniff sniff) Hello my name is Jennifer and I'm a chocoholic.

As far as soda, I love coca cola, but it has way too many calories so I try not to drink it too often. I hate diet soda so if I can't have the original then I'll go without. For me these days soda is like wine. I only drink it with certain meals. If I'm having fried chicken and potatoes with gravy, gotta have a coke. ;)

I am a huge soda fan. Pepsi rather than Coke, but I love both Cherry Coke and Cherry Pepsi. I am very picky about orange soda: only Sunkist or Crush in the glass bottles. Other brands just don't tastethe same. I love the cheapo store brand black cherry and strawberry sodas too. I prefer cans over bottles. When it's not soda, I drink plenty of lemonade as well. I guess you can tell I really like sweet stuff.

You too huh? Coffee is sooooo good. I drink coffee all of the time in the winter, but I usually slow up during the summer months. There's something 'comforting' about a nice warm cup of coffee in the morning while sitting here at work trying to get motivated.

I love the flavor so much that I've been drinking decaf more and more just to chill on the caffeine intake.

I guess soda/pop/Coke/etc. is my vice or strong drink. It's probably the only "harmful" thing that I drink, seeing as I really don't drink alcohol, coffee, tea (not too much). It's usually either Cherry Coke or water.

Same here. Nothing like an ice cold Coke when you're thirsty. Around here Coke is Coke, Pepsi is Pepsi everything else is pop. :)
