After I clean my dash with 1Z cockpit premium, do I need to put any protectant like 303 or OPT protection plus? or 1Z simply cleans and protects in one step?

Thanks

You don't need anything else - it contains conditioners and UV protection , all in one step.

Unless there have been some recent reformulation, it contains mild cleaners; no UV protectants. The intended use is a weekly interior quick touch ups. Even the product name explains itself 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium Interior Plastic Cleaner

In response to the OP, IZ CP is a great weekly touch up. On a monthly or quarterly basis you might want to choose another product to dress your interior.

According to the bottle, 1Z both "cleans and protects."

Check the complete product descpription on any of the sites. Some manufacturers tell you their intended use in the names of their products. I believe the folks at Einszett did so in this case. As TomP noted, you can check the product name of 1Z Einszett Vinyl Rubber Care and Protectant Tiefenpfleger.

If you dont want to go with einszett, sonus carries a product thats supposed to have UV protection. Total Eclipse is the name. Its on sale right now too

I don't necessarily believe that it has any protection properties (I'm really not sure any of them do), just saying what's on the bottle.

In any case, 1Z is great stuff. I never apply a protectant after using it, as it seems this would defeat the purpose of using 1Z in the first place.

Well, I don't know where you got your info, but I got mine directly from 1Z in Germany. Both Tiefenpfleger and CP contain UV protection according to the manufacturer. And I like the CP because it DOESN'T contain any greasy looking residue and leaves a natural, clean and protected finish.

Directly from Einszett's site:

The interior of your car was not meant to glow or look greasy. It should look clean and original as the manufacturer intended. That's exactly what Cockpit Premium does. It cleans the dash, gauge cluster, navigation and audio screens, shift knob, arm rests, and steering wheel while leaving a no-shine finish. Protects surfaces from fading due to heat. Leaves a light, fresh citrus scent. Water-based formula is free of oils.

I don't know what to make of that. It certainly implies that 1Z has some protectant properties, although "heat" may not necessarily mean "UV."

Well, 1Z-USA says it is protection from heat, not UV. They also say you don't need UV protection because windows block it out.

A-men, brotha.

Vinyl-Rubber Care and ProtectantArticle No: 972610

Pollutants, the sun, carwashes and variances in temperature can take a toll on exterior plastic trim and tires causing them to dry and age quickly. Vinyl-Rubber with its low shine, natural looking finish cleans, conditions and protects these surfaces. Deep penetrating conditioners restore and maintain original color and elasticity while UV blockers prevent the degrading effect of the sun. Repels dust and water for a long-lasting finish that always looks clean. Water-based formula is oil-free and biodegradable.

They've added "UV protection" to this one cuz they suggest it can be used on the outside of the vehicle.

I've got both these uber-products and have used them for years. I wouldn't use anything else. (No, I've never noticed UV degradation in any of our cars. That could be due to geography, too.)

Though I do use other products, I like both of these 1Z products. Also find Plastik Reiniger, and Anti-Insekt to be fine products as well.
