I no longer have any z1 but have one full bottle of z2 leftover (i dont think ill buy anymore zaino). I do wanna go ahead and use whats left of it, but I dont want to have to buy zfx or prelok just to use it. What is affected if I zaino a (silver) car without this step? Durability? Shine? Layerablilty?

Bumping isn't really acceptable on Autopia. I thought we put that in the rules somewhere...

People used Zaino for years and years without ZFX. You don't need it really. You just can't go multiple layers without it. Its a product for making layering go faster by causing the polymers to cure quicker. That's about it.

Ingrbrdman, the person was asking if they could use Z2 as a finish product without first using Z1. I am curious to know the answer also.

I thought he just answered the question ?

I've only used Z2 straight on glass with good results. I've used Z2 by itself with prior coats of Z2 or Z5 mixed with ZFX as LouisanaJeeper said.

Just make sure your paint is VERY clean before using the Zaino..... Dawnwash, then mabey do a QD with alcohol or prepsol in a spray bottle.

I think Z1 is kind of like a primer for the Z that helps it bond to the paint better/quicker. So if you have any probelms it would probably be like the Zaino lasting 4 months instead of 6.
