discovered some small hairline scratches

I have discovered a few small hairline scratches on my engine hood. Since my car is silver, I can only see them when i am looking at almost a 180 degree angle with respect with the car. what product is best for these scratches. I can not feel the scratches either. Also since the scratches are hard to see when looking straight on to the paint, how would i apply scratch remover? Do i just put it at the general area or is it best to apply it to that specific area only?

Also I am using Meguiar's clay kit G1060. Could the clay be scratching it? the process i do for claying is that i spray one section of the car with the provided lubricant and then i rub that area with the clay. Sometimes i might go too far and accidentally get onto a part that is dry. Is that bad? Are there better clay and lubricant kits that i should be looking into?

thanks for answering my questions.

I want to point out that silver has the LEAST amount of pigments than any other hue out ther. For this reason I would NOT entertain heavy compounds. Did you determine if they are from a power brush car wash? I dont use clay because I machine polish. So I cant tell you how to go about claying. Be sure the marks are not coming from the bottom in the form of minute cracking...other wise they are there to stay. Go to a body shop and they can tell you. EASY with the compound. Try to remember how the marks got there in the first place. You dont want to remove them only to put them back in all over again.

I don't mean to sound mean, but haven't you been reading up on proper detailing?
