Discontinued Products at 1Z

I just got off the phone with 1Z customer service and have some bad news:



Due to the VOC regulations, three products, the "Pro" version of Metallic Polish, Express Polish, and WaxPolish Soft are being discontinued. The stuff already in stock is the last of it.



The Express and WaxPolish Soft are simply going away. The Pro MP is being replaced by the "consumer" version. It will be called Metallic PolishWax, the same name as the consumer stuff. If you want to stock up on the "old" Pro version, look at the name on the can to make sure you're getting what you expect as they're already shipping the new stuff.



The guy I spoke with hinted that there might be new products coming out in the future, but said that they were going to streamline the lineup compared to how it used to be; the three products previously mentioned had *such* overlap that it didn't make sense to keep manufacturing them all.



Oh, and some of their products will be coming in plastic bottles; they're aware of how unpopular the metal cans are.

I understand Pro Metallic Polish was your favorite finishing polish. A lot better than something like AIO? What's next for you?



Never tried Pro MP before, so maybe I should find a can. Problem is I have so much PO85RD left. Maybe I need to trade some away. The other problem is that PO85RD is probably too abrasive to use just for paint clean up and burnishing, as it can remove swirls.



Werkstatt Prime (like AIO) is probably the closest thing I have right now.

I never did get around to trying the 1Z polishes. I have several other polishes, so I try to keep myself from buying a bunch of products that do the same thing.
 
White95Max- Well, I didn't ask about the Gummi, so I dunno. I prefer the Wurth stuff anyhow ;)



I'm sorta the same as you are about trying new stuff for no good reason, I just happened on my 3M PI-III line/1Z combo and stuck with it. If I hadn't done a side-by-side with Menzerna FP I wouldn't have been so wowed by the Pro MP; with the Audis (meaning mainly the S8) it's *just* the right product for what I'm doing. Quite possibly not something that many others would have a real application for, what with all the stuff on the market these days.



JustinTRW- I'll probably get the Menzerna product if there's nothing I like better when I run out of Pro MP (oughta say "if I run out", heh heh it won't be any time soon ;) ). I liked the Pro MP as a final polish even though it didn't really have much of any "cut" on Audi clear. Still, it had more functional abrasive quality than AIO (which I usually only use as a base for KSG), Pinnacle's Paintwork Cleansing Lotion, or Autoglym's SRP; I don't get any real "burnishing" type of polishing effect out of those products.
 
Why don't you try the black-canned/bottled body shop versions? I use them and they are pretty impressive and user friendly. Even the most abrasive Pasta Intensiv (similar to Extra/Ultra) is a gentle polish; finishing up so fine that you can apply your LSP.
 
Kudos to Einszett (1Z) for announcing their plan to phase out VOC non-compliant products and their replacement line-up. :bow

I have my stock of 1Z products that should last for quite some time (thanks gt1today) and I enjoy 1Z's performance as prep products.

As long as Glanz Wax stays around, I'll be happy, and so will several of my customers with metallic paint. :)



The consumer version of MP is decent too, but similar to AIO in cut.

Yeah, that would've been another good alternative, but I'm just not interested in trying new stuff these days. I've found what I like to use and learned how to work it, so I'm gonna stick with the products I'm using now for as long as I can. With the paints I'm dealing with, the stuff I'm using is exactly what I want.



I didn't think to ask the rep about the bodyshop line, but as I understood it, the Pro MP and the WPS were unique products in their lineup with no other products being directly comparable.
