Dirty even after a long detail

ONR, Dry, Clay, Dry, Wax.

I have a new car and this has been my process since I am a newb.

I really take my time to do these, spending 4 hours. However, after 2 days, the car gets pretty dusty. So I threw in QD. Seems that I have to QD every 3 - 4 days the least to keep my car clean.

I mean, spending that much time to only to see it dust up so quick in a day or two is heart breaking.

Anyone know what maybe be causing this quick build up? What are some ways you guys do to keep the dust off for a longer time?

PS: The glass is even worst, dust build up the next day.

nothing you can do about it. I feel your pain. Spent a good half day cleaning my car. On the way to the grocery store the sky let a few sprinkles lose on my car. When I came out ot the grocery store the water had evaporated but left behind the crap (pollen etc) in the air on my car.

Just to be clear...you aren't claying and waxing every time you ONR (wash) the car, are you?

This is the nature of the beast; cars outside get dirty. Be careful with the QD'ing that the car really only has light/loose dust or you will get marring.

My solution to built-up dust: a very quick rinse with CRSpotless as needed. I might have to try that FK 425 one day though.

Otherwise, I'm waiting for the invisible force field that surrounds the car.

I keep a filled bucket with ONR handy all week. I have found I feel safer cleaning that way quickly, rather than the QD's (marring concern). Takes the same or less time. I do have a black car. It has not rained much in MA over the past couple of months, but the road dust is a killer.

Hmm, I'm glad I haven't repainted my car black sapphire pearl yet. The only problem I have with dust is that it makes my gold color a couple shades darker lol

I say tough it out. Either that or you can get one of those inflatable car cover things from Costco. It would be cool to see a car trapped in one of those air filled cocoons :)
