I have read some thread discussions about xpel but not on the other products on the market. Are they pretty much all the same in quality and installation? What about the one that CMA sells as Headlight safety film? Does that kit include the fog lights/turn signal lights? Any input is greatly appreciated as this might be one item in my xmas wishlist.

im pretty sure that whether its xpel..stongrad whatever...that 3M (Scotchcal)makes all the materials...im prettyr sure that xpel and stongard both get the initial product from 3M(i think its like patended or sumthin)...then they each give you different cuts...or pieces....also i remember most posters thinking xpel was the "best' so to speak when it comes to $ and ease of installation....unless your just talking headlights and no paint...then i think its fairly simple(but i never did it...:) )...dont think the CmA kit includes fogs etc.....write them an email...they are really friendly....anyway....i can recall posts that said 3M is very good...then people who thought Ston was good...and of course xpel...i think it comes down to price and exactly how much you want to cover(back to $ again)....so basically...ive not helped u out at all...:(

The CMA kit included the headlights, turning lights, and fog lamps for my 330i. I thought it was interesting that the package was drop shipped directly from XPEL. And on the XPEL it is marked 3M Product! If you do get it, read the instructions and definitely use a hairdryer to heat it up first. It will help application and prevent bubbles....

I ordered the StonGard kit for my WRX last week . . . once I receive the kit and get it installed, I'll post some pics and impressions.

So you're saying that CMA actually sells the Xpel brand which is made by 3M. I guess I'll drop CMA an e-mail to confirm this. If this is the case, then it is cheaper to get it from CMA than from Xpel.com . BTW, are there any other internet retailer that sells Xpel, stongard ? :bounce

Thanks for all the replies.

What do you folks use to measure out ounces of APC's (etc) to mix with water? I was using Problend measuring devices from "AG" but they fail too easily. (plastic strips).

Just looking for other ideas, one person mentioned using paint mixing cups.

I'd rather it not just be a glass measuring cup, dropping that on a hard surface would be disastrous.

I just eyeball it. I've never felt the need for a measuring device with the chemicals I use. Sure, I'm probally off + or - occasionally, but its not like were talking about a pharmicist compounding medicine :wizard:
