I ordered a few 4 inch pads from Autogeek and then also bought some different colored 4 inch pads from detailers domain. My question is the ones from detailers domain are not as thick as the ones from autogeek. Is that a problem, does the pads being thinner do anything like get rid of swirls better?

They should work equally well. The thinner pads are called low profile pads. Some of the low profile pads dont have the velcro backing extending to the edge of the pad. Your backing plate could start cutting into the foam.

I use both thick and thin 4" pads and the difference never really matters to me. I do seem to have a slightly better feel for what's going on with the thin ones, but the thick ones seem a little more gentle...so guess it's a toss-up IMO.

What about dimpled (CCS?) vs non-dimpled pads? Or the "technology" pads that have a blue "constant pressure" foam on the back of the pad? Any difference in any of these when used with a PC?
