Differences in Metallic Polish

I've noticed that my current, 1 litre can of MP seems quite different from my previous one (the "mysterious gray matter" can, which I've returned to Mike for analysis).

I expected the differences in smell and color, but it seems my "pro" can's MP is also quite a bit thicker than the pink "consumer" stuff and seems to have a little less lubricity. I have to sorta shake it out of the can to some extent, wherease I could just easily pour the pink stuff. Not a problem, just an observation.

I was under the impression that the products were identical except for the aroma and dye additives. Applying it to the pad is a very different experience, this does *not* seem like some subtle difference, though I suppose there's always a chance that I've just misremembered (after only a couple of weeks?) or otherwise played some mental trick on myself

Anyone have comments? (Besides, "gee, what's with Accumulator and his wacky MP issues?" ;) )

Accumulator:

What you have in your hands is the professional version of Metallic Polish which is different than Metallic PolishWax. It contains less carnauba and doesn't contain polymers. It's a bit more aggressive than Metallic PolishWax yet less aggressive than Paint Polish (shop or pro line). As you noticed it is thicker and stronger in odor--sign that it is stronger.

We've kept this formula in the Pro-Line because it sells very well with detailers (both here and in Europe) because it has a bit more kick than the Metallic PolishWax.

However, I do expect the Metallic PolishWax formula to come in a 1 L size soon.

Hope this helps,

Mike- Thanks for clarifying- sounds like the Pro Metallic Polish is *just* what I wanted for the application in question. I'll just use the Wax Polish Soft for applications where I would've preferred the Metallic PolishWax.

Now that's a great product. I did 1/2 our BMW with it two weeks ago and stopped...didn't put anything over it. I think that's simply the best looking finish I've been able to achieve on that particular car.

Wait is this a different product but in the same red can packaging as MP? Sounds like its inbetween pink MP and green PP

Bill D- Sorta. When you get the Metallic in the 1 litre round, "pro" can, you get the stuff we've been discussing on this thread. When you buy it in the smaller, rectangular can you get the pink stuff that you have now.

Some good stuff in those 1L cans- stronger MP, WPS :xyxthumbs

Tom P.- Yeah, I know what you mean about the look you get from WPS!
