Did you know there are magazines written for the detailing industry?

There isn't much awareness of them, but I've found both publications to be useful:

1. Detailers Digest

Detailer's Digest

6 issues a year. $15 for a yearly subscription

Lots of useful technical and business information in DD. Each issue is about 24 pages long.

2. Professional Carwashing and Detailing

Professional Carwashing & Detailing Online :: Brought to you by Grand View Media

12 issues yearly.

See here for a free subscription: Professional Carwashing & Detailing Online :: Brought to you by Grand View Media

PCD is mostly marketed to carwash owners, but about 10 pages of content are written for detailers. Both technical and business subjects are covered.

There is another forum worth reading, as well:

Professional Auto Detailing Forum - Mobileworks Professional Detailing Forums

Mobileworks is strictly for detailing professionals. There are some very astute detailers and business persons to learn from there.

Personally i didn't find much info in Professional Carwashing and Detailing mag. Usually a couple pages about detailing and most of it is on Autopia anyways. Very much geared towards the car wash industry and the past issues detailing advice is online at their site.

Might have to have a look at Detailer Digest. Thanks for the links.

The PCWD mag is on line. There is also a bi mothly from Mobile Tech News. I just started get these about a month ago. Good informative paper too. The other is Detailers Digest. I think these are very good news papers. They tell about other profit centers, expo's and add ons for detailers. Web cars alos has a detail board. The is a wealth of info on PCWD go to industry topics, and click detailing!

This is a good site too. The info you are looking for is listed under industry topics. They have a Great Detail Bulliten Board. Some of the pioneers of the industry post there. Also the owners of Detail Plus, Detailking,Top of The Line. All these guys talk about the new products and profit centers.

Detailers Digest is the worst... LOL

They did a cover story on my company and butchered the entire thing...

According to them

Bella Macchina is FRENCH

I invented the two bucket method

I use a paint meter that is MADE out of carbon fiber ceramic kevlar

Brian Brice used to polish out of a converted cottage garage and I found him in Virginia.

The list goes on an on, a great piece of fiction...

Hehe, where can I get a copy? I only read PC&D + Mobileworks for some good info, not great. Detailers Digest, and a few others just aren't even worth the money or the content.

The less people that see it, the better. Brian and I actually cried reading it (it was that funny).

It's titled "A shine that is barely street legal: Bella Macchina" and gets worse from there!

Save your $15, the site is loaded with typos.
