How long do Quick Detailers (<strong class='bbc'>without wax[/b]) stay on the paint after applying? Do they come off after the first wash?

TIA

I doubt that they last a week, maybe 3 days and are surely gone after wash.

I keep touching my car everyday (O.K. that sounds really weird) and can feel QD slickness disapearing after 3 days on my daily driver.

thay can last longer - thats if u dont drive anywhere - and the cars always in the garage - i.e if its your weekend car

if not, the others are spot on - 2-3, at most 4 days - but in rain 1day is more likely.

I'd have to agree with the 1-2 day estimate for daily drivers. At the end of one day your daily driver is going to pick up quite a bit of dust anyway. So in this sense, the look of a quick detailer is very short lived.

when asked how long a Nuclear Powered Aircraft Carrier would last in battle. "2 or 3 days, longer if it stays in port". ;)

I think it depends on the QD. Some of the QD's contain a low percentage of sealant. If your car already has a sealant (Klasse, Zaino, Blackfire), the QD simply renews what is removed from washing/driving. I don't this it evaporates at a rate higher than the coat of sealant applied. QDing just puts down a much smaller amount. QD's I know about that contain polymer sealant:

EF Clear Pearl

Zaino Z6

Sonus

Blackfire

Most QDs contain zero protection. They simply allow you to dust safely, wipe off water spots after washing, etc.

Does EF Clear Pearl really contain a polymer? And, if so, would it be compatible with say Zaino or BF? What I mean is, could you us the EFCP as a QD and still layer successfully? I was under the impression that EFCP contained some wax.

EF Clear Pearl has carnauba wax in it. Therefore, after using it, sealents can not be layered on top. As for it's polymer content, I can't answer you there.

You can use pretty much any quick detailer you like over Zaino. However, if you want to "rejuvenate" your Z-2 or Z-5 layer just a tiny bit, then it might be a good idea to use the Z6 at times.

As for the Clear Pearl, it does have a bit of carnauba in it and this is what helps rejuvenate a carnauba coat. Laters
