So, I just finished a detail and washed my microfiber towels. I threw them in the dryer and stuck it on delicate. The next morning, I came back and the towels all had static. Did I just ruin 80 bucks worth of pakshak towels?

No you didn't mess up your towels. Next time instead of letting them completely dry in the dryer, just let them mostly dry and let them air dry the rest of the way.

I hang mine on a wooden rack and they dry real fast

Dave,
Did you build it yourself, or where did you find it? I've been looking for something that I can open up in the garage & collapse when I'm not using it.

Norah, I have something like that at home I use for laundry. I got it at Wal-mart for about $5. It collapses when not in use, and when it's opened it doesn't take up too much space.

Here's a very similar one to the one I have.

i actually like it when my towels have a little static in them. it transfers to my car somehow and them in a way repels dust a bit. i normally let them air dry until almsot dry and then throw them in the dryer in the end on delicate.

I've found just the opposite. When the towels are staticy, they seem to attract dust like a magnet. You can hear it snap, crackle, and pop when you're using the towels, and sure enough you can see where all kinds of dust attaches - especially brake dust near the fenders. :(
