looked like this to start out

the car was bought used. I don't know what the previous owner or dealer did to the car, but this pic doesn't even give a hint of how bad it was. I think they must have gotten an ice scrapper or a broom and really went to town on the car in the winter. all of the body pannels were covered with swirls and these marks. it almost looked like hte paint was "compressed" or squished, not scratched.

we spent about 6 hours on it and still couldn't get everything out, even with using a wool pad on the PC with DACP. We finally had to give up because I had no more clean pads :(

An aside: I tried a Lake County orange pad for the first time and was VERY VERY VERY VERY disappointed. the pad litterally fell apart on me! it looked like the edge of the backing plate cut through the pad almost all the way through to the front surface   I've had yellow and white pads from Lake County and they've held up find over probably half a dozen intense sessions & cleanings.

Anyhow, on with the show :)

after the DACP we put on some NXT. Applied it and let it sit for about 20 minutes. We couldn't believe how much the paint was darkened by the NXT. As we finished there was a stock indigo blue golf that drove by. we couldn't believe that it was the same colour.

Still kind of disappointed that I couldn't get everything out. I have a feeling that in oder to the the paint perfect again will require either a wet sanding or a rotary with meguiar's diamond cut.

 THat side door is exactly like a mirror! What kinda camera? I think the prep work is pretty dark good!:bow

camera is a nikon coolpix 880

pressure.. i dunno maybe 10-15 pounds? I'm not sure. i went slow with pressure, fast with pressure, i made 5 passes on some areas of the hood and it didn't seem to make any difference.

Very impressive! Are you sure that's the side door? It looks like the corner of your garage. :D :xyxthumbs

BTW, just curious what size your orange LC pad was. Thanks!

Came out very very nice, thats a great color. Excellent reflections!

You feel NXT deepend the paint after the DACP?

WoW!

Sick car and Sick work.

Please tell me how you got those borders around the pics :)
