Diana Ross performs with new Audi in background!

Once in a while, it's great to get out from the shop, and do some detailing for a special event.

Diana Ross was invited by an Asian airlines company to sing in a Gala Dinner specially organised for the company's VIP guests, which included the Prime Minister and many other local celebrities. My company was honoured by the opportunity to detail this car to perfection for this event.

It was a 2011 latest Audi A8, and it was a left-hand drive version that just completed its roadshow in the Middle East. Once we set our eyes on it, it was obvious that a tough job lay ahead as the interior was dirty and exterior was full of spiderwebbing scratches, isolated holograms and RIDS, after having been polished and waxed by so many different parties around the world.

3days of back breaking work doing light sanding, compounding etc to meet the tight timeline. Interior was inspected under LED lighting, standmounted halogens, and overhead metal halides, as it was raining outside. Carpet was so badly soiled, it had to be removed for thorough cleaning.

The car was covered-up and trailered to the hotel (as it's not officially launched yet)and driven slowly into the ballroom, and we did some on-site detailing work to tidy things up. Logos on the rims were aligned, as per company policy and horror of horrors.....the venue was very dim, with lots of extremely strong "projector style" metal halide lights...perfect in showing off any swirls and defects. There were none of that crap and I was so relieved:chuckle: Hundreds of part-timers were in the hall being briefed for that night's dinner proceedings, and security was extremely tight.

Audi A8, flawless under highly revealing lighting.

While the part-timer crews were chilling out, we were taking a breather too and had some time to snap a pic from afar.

Her bodyguards were everywhere, and of course, the American Embassy personnel were there in full force, not to mention the majority of American expatriates.

A fabulous performance by a timeless classic!
