I think i may have landed a client to detail his Aston martin Vanquish. He is going to get me to detail his truck and then his Girlfriends camry and if i do well then i get to detail his Aston martin. :waxing:

Those cars are sweet!!!!!! I got to drive one on Wed. Had to return it for the customer. His is black and it is one of the coolest cars to drive. You shift with the paddle shifters and it down shifts on it's own. I love the quilted swede in the head liner. Hope it never gets dirty because I wouldn't know how to clean it.

It's no different then any other car, other then it's value. So detail it like you would anything else.

BTW, don't make any deals or cut costs on his other cars so as to think you're securing the AM V in the end, it deosn't always happen that way. If you're good enough to do his AM V then he should pay top dollar for the quality of work on the AMV and the others.:bigups

Well said Josh. I detail all of my clients cars to the best of my ability not matter what the make. I feel that if you show your attention to detail on the smaller things that it will open doors to greater things in the end.

Thanks Pat, sometimes I'll go a little extra mile on the regular cars or beaters, just to show that some of them can be made to look as nice as the high end luxury cars, then they will definately want me or Baseballover to do the exotic ones once they see the potential.

Hey how do those paddle shifters work? Do you still have to press a clutch? Are they the ones that are at like 3 and 9 o'clock on the steering wheel? I just learned how to drive a stick this week its been fun.

yes @ 3 & 9

no clutch

right hand = upshift

left hand = downshift

Yepp... the paddles arent a problem with this car though. Its a manual. But yea... the only thing im worried about is the car is close to perfect anyway, just light swirls i think. i hope he doesn't expect a miracle on a car that was a miracle to begin with.

Is it like smg? If so then it has a clutch, just no clutch pedal because it's computer operated.

Hope you get the job , i would love to see some pics.

smg?... its like a normal stick shift. It has a pedal and everything. I know how to drive it, ide just be nervous knowing im driving something more expensive then all three of my cars combined.

You've got to pop that bubble eventually. I've driven cars more expensive then my house and I don't mind, was a bit nervous.....yeah, at first, then afterwards don't know why I was so tense about it. Just don't let the owner know what you're sharing with us....

If you don't feel comfortable then get the owner to back it in and out. I'm sure he'll appreciate you getting him to drive it. Or just ask him up front if he feels comfortable with you backing it in and out? I've done that before and the owners typically appreciate the consideration and have no problems with me driving there expensive toys.:woot2:

Josh

Yea, im completely sure that i can do it if i go slow and stuff, its just the thought about if my foot slipped scares me. My foots never slipped before but there's always a 1st time for everything... the good thing is im getting a durrmaid 2 gal. extractor for the 2 details before the AM :getdown .

My foot slipped on the clutch once of a nice new red corvette Z06 with head/cam work putting out over 550RWHP..... the bottom of my shoe was wet from water and it slipped off the clutch, the car did a little jump forward and that was it, no harm, and the owner was at work. That was it, no biggie.

Bingo! I once cut price on a few cars in anticipation for the nicer ones... Clients still wanted same price.

Just set those expectations going in. I always promise less than I can do so when I do more and exceed those expectations I look like the hero.

When I drove a 75K Mercedes Benz a few years back is when I realized that some expensive cars are way overpriced. It's just metal and plastic and in 20 years it most likely will be in an expensive junkyard. Treat them with respect but don't fear them.
