Detailing Process - Is this ok?

Hey everyone!

Ive been following this site and forum for quite some time and it has always given me expert advice. I just have a quick question.

I have a 2004 VW R32. Its Deep Blue Pearl and this summer, I want to go all out on detailing it (not like I dont anyway  ) I recently had my hood painted, along with the fenders and front bumper. The paint is in good condition but all Ive been doing is thourough washes and waxes. Im a detail freak, but Ive never done the whole detail process. I always use the softest products and never skimp.

This is the process that I would be doing for detailing and I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback about it and if its ok to be doing this way.

1. Wash with Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash OR SmartWash.

2. Clay bar with Meguiars Clay

3. Polish with Sonus SFX-2 Enhance Swirl Remover

4. Wax with Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze

5. Wax with Meguiars Gold Class Wax

6. Shine up with Sonus Acrylic Glanz Spray Sealant

Anything missing? Anything I shouldn't be doing? Products no good? :nixweiss

Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys! :dance

LOVE the car, I used to own one of those!

everything looks good, i do believe you have to wait 12-24 hours before topping SG though.

Thanks! I love the color, its one of my favorite blues!

SG = ? Im new to all this lingo. Half of the time, I dont know what people are talking about on here. Sealant Glaze? I know I know noob.

yea I was talking about the Sealant Glaze.

If i remember correctly you have to wait 12-24 hours before you can top it. You need to give it time to cure.

Thanks Guys!

I was just worried that if I went from the Sonus Swirl Remover to the Sealant Glaze, I would be applying the sealant without a coat of wax before the sealant....

You're riding 4x4 mode! Drop it like its hot! ... heh, kidding...

Car looks aweseome, I've almost traded in my Jetta multiple times for an R but as a fellow VW lover they are just too hard to part with.

No detailing comments, just a dub comment. :D

I wouldn't top SG with Gold Class, since GC has cleaners in it which would remove the underlying SG. Other than that, your process looks pretty solid.
