Detailing polished wheels

I've got a client that wants his CCW 505a detailed. It's brushed aluminum/polished inside out. The wheels are are little oxidated and according to him, "dead looking" and wants to bring it back to life.

So I was thinking of the follow procedure:

1. Soak it up with P21S Gel and let it for a minute.

2. Scrub with various brushes.

3. Take the wheels out and polish using #0000 steel wool and Optimum Polish

4. Seal with Poorboy's Wheel Sealant

5. Wax with Collinite 845.

Thoughts? Would this be the same procedure for most chrome, polished and powdercoated wheels?

Thanks

Have you ever used the PoorBoy's before, how is it?

How long does the stuff last?

Can it do multiple coatings and does that increase its protection and effectiveness?

Also any alternative or competing products?

I was wondering what you thought of the product, or what anyone else might think of the product. I am looking for the BEST longest lasting wheel sealant that will work without any negative consequences on chrome.

When I get new chrome wheels I want to seal them up (especially the back) with multiple coats before they go on the vehicle.

CCW wheels are not cleared.....they are bare aluminum.....and arguably the BEST looking wheels out there when they are polished well!

Was going to ask similar question, new Centerline wheels polished, not chrome.. I saw optiseal recommended. Any others? Where do you get it?

I would not use steel wool on aluminum, only on chrome. I tried to restore some very bad alum. rims in the past and tried steel wool on a test section, it shined up ok but left some bad marring that required another polish with a regular terry cloth rag. Just stick with the polish on a rag for this detail, especially if it is only a little oxidized. Remember, less aggressive first.
