Detailing Badges

What do you do to detail the badges on the car (manufacturer's logo, car name, etc). Do you try to get some hand polish in the spaces between it? Or do you just go over all of it with metal polish?

Most of today's emblems are plastic with paint or a chromish finish on them. I just go over them with a light polsigh if they need it.

For the painted areas in between the badges, I pull cotton off a Q-tip (or use a cotton ball) and work the product with that and a sharpened swab stick/toothpick.
