I went for my physical exam last week and my Doc asked me:

Doc: Bill, how much do you excersize?

Bill: At least 30 minutes per day. Some days, several hours.

Doc: What are you doing for excersize?

Bill: I detail cars.

Doc I beg your pardon?

Bill: I clean, polish and wax cars.

Doc: [.... silence ... thought... ]

Bill: It's an excellent cardio-vascular workout. Not one day goes by that I don't do some kind of detailing.

Doc: [... more silence... trying to understand what the heck I'm talking about...]

Doc, finally: Sounds good, Bill. Keep it up.

Cardiologists recommend at least 30 minutes of excersize every day for good cardio-vascular health. If nothing else, I'll go out and QD a couple cars, including wheels, tires and a quick vac. The goal is to get the heart rate up so I work fast! No-Rinse car washes also provide good cardio. So keep detailing and stay healthy!!!;)

Give me a car that needs to be "express" detailed any day over that dang TREADMILL!!!:D

I follow the karate kid cardio work out plan too! - wax on, wax off.....

I follow cardiologist Davis's heart healthy plan. he has a blog at: http://heartscanblog.blogspot.com/ Under the plan it is suggested to grab a few sun rays every once in awhile. So I drag the cars outside for cleaning and waxing. Great cardio exercise because I have to work fast enough so that the soap and wax do not dry out!

I could not agree with you more.

Especially during really hot weather and when your really moving.

beats the treadmill, you actually end up getting something dones while you excercise.
