Detailing a Motorcycle

I bought my first bike this week. Cant wait to get in the road. Grew up on Dirt Bikes and always wanted a street bike so wife gave me the a-ok so I did it. Anyway, any suggestions on detailing it? I can imagine that it has to be different than working on a car. Tips and tricks and advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mine gets the same treatment as the cars with one exception.
For the nooks & crannies of the engine, wheels, rear shock areas that are very difficult to get to, I use S100 Total Cycle Wash. I think P21S Total Auto Wash is about the same thing. My bikes are very seldom left dirty for any length of time and I mix the Cycle Wash 70%-30% with the 30% being water. Spray it on, rinse well and don't leave any residue to dry.
It is supposed to be safe on any surface, but I still use car shampoo for my main wash.

Howdy, I have a Gold WIng. The best two tips I can give you is these.... First is the best thing I found to wash nooks and crannies is a glass washer, You know the one that has the plastic handle and the foam fingers. it can get flat and don't scratch. Second is to dry your bike ...use the blower from your yard work. It works great to get all those hidden spots blown out.
