Detailing a Jet Ski

I'd go for durability-Collinite 845 or Finish Kare-do not use an abrasive polish on gelcoated fiberglass(I'm assuming its fiberglass)

Meg's has a line of products formulated specifically for boats. It's very similar to the automotive line but tweaked for gel coats, etc.

For the most part, automotive finish products work well on Jet Skis, snowmobiles, lawn tractors, chainsaws...

PC.

I always used automotive finish products on mine. But it is not a good idea to wax the bottom of the ski (any part that is in the water). It will make handle poorly and you can tell a differance. Just give the bottom a good cleaning with your wash soap and be done with it. I always used EO wet with pretty good results and maintained with EO QD. The only time I did anything special to the bottom is when I sold it.

Have a good one!

yes, just clean the bottom. if you wax it will change the wetting surface (actually creats friction) and will slow you down and change the performance.... believe me. i race boats and 1,200 to 2,000 wet sanding on bottoms is the only thing we do. wax or polish? NO NO!! just my .02 opinion.

3M, Megs, and Collinite all have marine products. Check out your local boating supply store. UV protectant is key. The marine products are tweaked for plastics and gel coats.

Gel coat is typically more difficult to work with when using mechanical polishes than paint is. I think using SSR1 would be a waste of product and time because I do not think it will provide any additional results than AIO will by itself.
