So a fellow nasioc'er (www.nasioc.com)asked me a whike back to look at his car. It has some nasty oxidation on it, wierd for a 02 (same year and color as mine) and if I knew of something that would get it out. So I told him I had some stuff, AIO, that should work. So tonight I'm doing his car for him, in preparation for a church show this weekend. I will post pics of the whole process, start to finish, but here's my plan of attack:

Dawn wash

AIO (2x on the trouble spots)

Scratch X on any scratches

Z2/ZFX/Z6 QD

S100

Meguiars QD to finish

and of course dress tires, clean engine, vacume, windows, and trim.

Pics will come tonight, after I get home, eat, shower, DL pics, create page, upload and post here. . .so around 10:30 tonight chicago time. . .

One good thing is that it's all gonna be indoors, at a garage, so the lighting will be the same for all the pics

Here are some pics of my blue WRX, old ones, of the first 2 Zaino layers this summer:

my WRX with 1st coat of Zaino

my WRX with 2nd coat of Zaino

So I detailed that WRX last night that I was telling you guys about.

here are the pics

The owner was very pleased. Here's what I did (as suspected)

Dawn wash

AIO (2 x on oxidated spots on rear pillars-hard to see in pics)

megiuars #9 on thos pillars also to get more off

scratch x to finish, as #9 did get some out,buy not as much as I'd like

Misc use of scratch x on fairly big scratches, didn't get them out, but it definately looks better then when it started.

Z2/ZFX the entire car

S100 entire car (2 coats on hood)

Zaino tire dressing (not in any of the pics)

Simply Green to clean the engine as best I could

Here's a quote from the owner from www.nasioc.com , where i posted pics last night when I got home (very late and tired)

David did an amazing job!!! And the wax hasn't even cured yet. Wait till tonight!!!

He even agreed to meet me at my school which is right by Comiskey on a night when the Sox had a home game. The pricing was excellent too and he gave the entire car his own personal attention. He found defects that I didn't even know I had. He wouldn't leave until it looked as good as new and I enjoyed talking with him about the process.

Thank you again David, and to anyone who wants a show car finish, you cannot go wrong with David.

I know the pics aren't the best, but I didn'y have the best enviroment to take them in. They were better than the other option, outdoors!

And the bright side is that after posting these pics on the subaru board, I got 1 more detail next week, and 3 people deffinately interested, and a few ther fence sitters! more business and $ for me before the winter months come. . .

Yes I was! He gave me 20 more than I remember quoting him, but I sweat my arse off on this car! it was humid as heck out!

I'm really pleased by how the car came out, and I think he was too! If he doesn't place in this show this weekend, I'd be surprised (he's attending a local church car show)
