Detailing a 99 STS

Well first off, this is my first post here on Autopia.org, that being said hello and awesome site you guys have going on here. I've done my fair share of snooping/lurking and have not been the least bit disappointed. :wavey

Anyways I currently own a 1999 White Diamond Cadillac Seville Touring Sedan, AKA Cadillac STS and have some odd 'splotches' I guess you could call them on my lower front fender. I have bought a Meguiars clay kit as well as their M26 wax and Detailing Spray. My question is this, should I expect to see a 'deep' reflection after I am done detailing the car tomorrow. Or should I just expect the minimal reflection because it IS a white car.

Also, are the products I purchased ok to use with my paint and will the clay remove the 'splotches' that are on the front fender?

Furthermore, my headlights seemed to be dulled so I decided to try to 'buff' them with the Meguiars headlight kit with no avail. Is there anything else I can try to get them to clear up? It seems the 'fog' is on the INSIDE of the lense and not the outside. And I am almost positive I cannot take apart the lense, meaning its one unit part.

Either way, just wanted all of your opinions as you all seem to be beyond pros at auto detailing.

Its off to work tomorrow on here and I just wanted to get some advice! :thx :buffing:

not being able to see the splotches in person, or pics.. really hard to say how or if your process will eliminate them.

With that paint color you will probably see a more metallic shimmer/pop than anything else. A solid color, non metallic, usually can provide a "deeper' look.

Also different seasons of the year, metallic paints reflect differently. Probably due to the angle of the sun, etc.

To achieve a deep* look, with that color paint, I suggest multiple layers with whatever you like. More than likely as the sun goes down you will notice a deeper look to your paint.

Not sure what to tell you about the headlight/s, if it isn't condensation then being on the inside may be a tough fix.

But, welcome to Autopia !!!
