Detailer's Pride Waterless Wash?

CharlesW

The Rainmaker
How about some opinions on this product?
The formula was changed for more skickness sometime back and I didn't find much in the way of information about the newer version.
I'm looking for actual hands on experience.
Any one using it?

And I'm not talking about a rinseless wash, but rather their spray on, wipe off product that competes with Poorboy's Spray & Wipe.

Pro & Con:

Con: Much more expensive.

Pro: I have no idea since I haven't used the product.

I don't know Charles, I've never used ANY of the waterless products.

I do know if I owned a Detail Supply company, you would have 1 each of everything.
:bowYou are:winner: @ giving Honest & Thorough reviews(Jared runs a close 2nd):rockon

I haven't used it Charles. I know of the DP stuff I have used, it has all been top notch - just don't have any experience with this.

I bought 2 gallons back in the winter of 2007
when did they change it I was not aware of a change.
I have not done a side by side with the DP & S&W to compares gloss but as I remember they are very nearly the same.
The DP can be used as a QD and it works well as a QD and mixed with water at the recommended ratio for a QD it is less costly than buying a quality QD

BB, it sounds like you are referring to the 4-n-1 product.

CharlesW, I have a 32oz spray bottle still around from a while back (more than a year old, so probably not the new forumulation). I've used in on the usual (for me) spots, door jambs and spot cleaning. I'll be honest, I can't tell you the difference. I do know that I've used over a gallon of S&W in the same time it has taken me to use (and not completely) the 32oz. That could be due to habit. <shurgs> :thinking

The waterless wash was reformulated before your purchase in 2007. I think it was late 2005.

The DP rinseless wash was reformulated and renamed in the fairly recent past. Probably in the last 2 - 4 months.

Yeah, the S&W habit is hard to break. :)
A person whose opinions I value that know I use a lot of S&W told me that the DP Waterless was a good product, but sometimes it is good to just keep using what you are happy with.
If it wasn't for the BOGO and my $20 gift cetificate at AG, I probably wouldn't be considering it. I could get two quarts for about $4 out of pocket. Pretty cheap way to try it.
My reservation is what to do with it if I don't like it.

Any more users out there?

CharlesW, I can say with a fair amount of certainty that because you like S&W you will like that product just as well. (I highly doubt that they re-forumlated the product only to make it worse:)) Your problem will be reaching past the S&W for the DG. (speaking from the point of experience) ;)

Now that I know you have "money" burning a hole in your pocket, I'll muddy the waters even further...:D AG now carries Griot's. Why not pick up a 32 of DP and a 32 of Griot's version. Then you can do a 3-way shoot-out at the CharlesW Corral. See how easy it is for me to spend your money! :D

The big problem with your idea is that it defeats the purpose of using the BOGO offer.
Since it doesn't ssem like anyone is going to rave about how much better the DP is, I think I probably should take my friends advice and stick with the S&W.

Read right past the BOGO statement on to the "free money"

Don't get discouraged so easily. You're hesitance is going to rob me of the shoot-out. :D Then again, it could be a draw and everybody dies in the end.

I never have seen AG promote it. I noticed it a few weeks back when I was looking for the DP Rinseless Wash and Gloss. In fact, they have a lot of products in the Pinnacle, Wolfgang, and DP that never seem to get mentioned by them and some even compete with each other.

i use both. my take is that the DP smells really nice and never smears. it is close but the PBs might clean a little better. both are nice and i would buy both again.

Flash Gordon, I think you may be on to something! CharlesW and/or JaredP can wax (play on words certainly intended) eloquently. :D
