Hello All,

I recently came across this site when searching for detailers in San Diego. After searching the forums, I found that many members suggested contacting RAG for his great work. I've PMed him but no response. If I can't get a hold of RAG is there any other great detailers in the San Diego area? Thanks in advance.

This is a great site! I should have found it sooner!

Detail In Progress Inc. Prentice is a great guy to detail with. Easy to talk to. www. detailinprogress.com

I got in touch with RAG through this forum. I have been in constant touch with him the last few weeks as he will be doing my car soon. If you want I could give him your email address or tell him that you're looking for him.

I replied immediatly (on the 7th), so I'm not sure why you wouldn't have got it. Who knows.

Anyways, thanks everyone for elerting me. And thanks for the call Kant.

It's a black Lexus - nobody (at least in this County) does black like I do... :)

Take from an 'OLD SCHOOL' professional detailer who was schooled at the Aston Martin Factory,......There is always someone who is more knowledgable, more experienced and MORE talented than yourself (including me!).

I know for certain, they dont get any better......RAG is pretty slick... Hes always on the top of my list of referrals in SD, as is Andrew with Aficionauto up in S.B. (Chris you know how I feel about you!)

Sometimes the best schooling comes off the streets....I know many a garage mechanics not S.A.E. Certified, who, well......dont know Jack......

On the other hand, i do agree with you. Everytime I think I know something, someone else tells me differently, lol..............

Welcome to the forum BTW...............:bolt

Your photogallery is s i c k !! Are those all clients of yours? You look like you do quite a bit of post paint work? Or is that your body shop as well?

Thanks Patrick. It's funny how guys will come on with 1 post and talk trash - I don't even know anybody around here who's heard of him.

Well, I want to thank you for the warm welcome! Please pardon me if my search engine answers with 'old' threads.

I am sure that most of you will agree that becoming more mature is part of most evryones life. I too was once a thick headed, pompous, know it all; offended by any mention that I might have not completed anything less than perfect work.

I guess I need to 'pay my dues' here in this forum and also obtain a KUSI type television commercial to have notoriety here in San Diego.

Before 1989 (when there was no two stage clearcoat paint finishes), Car Detailing was a 'no brainer' with a couple of years of experience. Today, the true test of quality is how a vehicle finish looks in bright sunlight after 6 months(and several thousand miles), and 12 to 15 gentle hand washes; after the detail date.

I really tried not to offend anyone during the creation of my original post. I do appreciate any person who can turn back the clock on a black finish; enjoys the challenge, and is proud of their 'artwork'.

Over the past 30 years, I have always been receptive to new ideas to improve my processes, appearance, and longevity. For me closing the door on learning about new tools and tricks, might lead me to burn out or worse than that a income that does not grow.

Appology accepted...I was at first a little taken back by your post, but now I realize it was nothing. You see, there are all-to-many people that come on on this board, talk trash, and are then never to be seen again.

I guess my wife’s clearcoated ’85 Mazda must have fallen through a time warp with Dr. Who. :D
