This is the 17th referral in 3 weeks from a single customer. I cannot thank him enough! Needless to say, his Hummer will be very well taken care of next time. This van is very familiar to me. My wife drives a similar model. There are some scrapes on the outside.

One big one on the bumper.......which is to be replaced in a couple of weeks. The interior was pretty grimy buy in good condition for a "van". Most are trashed! This vehicle gave me the chance to tryout some new to me products.......XMT's 360, the CYCLO, and Folex carpet cleaner.

Here's the full process.......

Wheels, Tires, and Well:

(Purple Power Degreaser and Meguiar's Wheel Brightener)

I simply sprayed on the products, let soak, scrubbed and blasted clean. Boy were these wheels caked with dust! I hate Ford's cast wheels. Eeverything gets into the crevices and sticks like glue. I used DP's Wheel Glaze to aid against this and then used Pinnacle's Black Onyx Tire Gel on the tires. The wells got a coating of No-Touch Wet'n Protect.

Wash Cycle:

(NXT Car Wash with black Wheel ShMitt)

Ok, this thing was dirtier that what I thought. The painted did a good job at hiding it too. After a good washing, I really felt no need for claying. Skipping this step too would let me see just how well 360 would clean the paint.

Paint Correction and Protection:

(XMT's 360 AIO via CYCLO with the green EDGE2K pads)

I simply have no idea how I've detailed without a CYCLO before now! It, along with the EDGE2K system, is perfectly balanced in my opinion. You can hardly even tell it's on! Those of you at Detail Fest will agree with me on this. I put four, pea-sized drops of 360 onto each pad. I used no QD at all. With the machine off, I smeared the product over half of the hood. I then switched the machine on. No dial here. Just one setting.....ON! I started out with some pressure, not much though. The 360 quickly started to do it's work. It also quickly vanishes. There is barely any residue to remove. Absolutely no dusting either. Take a look at it's cleaning ability too after just the hood!

The CYCLO cut like crazy. I was even one-handing it since this machine was so smooth. I did the entire van's paint, with correction, in 40 minutes......this includes the roof too! I am extremely pleased with both products and here's why.....

Interior:

(FOLEX carpet cleaner, DP's Interior Cleaner, Pinnacle's Leather Cleaner & Conditioner)

FOLEX is simply good stuff. I spot treated the carpet at full strength and then misted the rest of the area. I let sit for 5 minutes and vacuumed. I then cam back and rubbed the areas with a damp MF towel. WOW! Cleaned up with no foam and no residue left. Very pleased here.

The leather was then cleaned and treated. The windows were cleaned with Diamondite's Glass Cleaner.

Befores........

Let me remind you all again because I know I will get asked.......

I did NOT top XMT's 360 with ANYTHING!

That's it in it's natural state. Now you know why I'm excited about it!

Wow I got to get some of the 360!!! Did you use the same amount of 360 on every panel ie: 2-4 pea size dots on the pads? The last pic of the Pads, are those after the detail? They didn't gum up at all! Is work time alot, and does it do any swirl removal?

Andrew

Beautiful job inside and out. If 360 has decent durability it should be a winner. I would love to try the Edge system on the Cyclo, but I already have a lifetime supply of regular 4" pads. Having a young, healthy back must help, because I can't Cyclo the roof of my van in 40 minutes. :chuckle: As usual an excellent job and a well written description of your process.

:goodjob

I used the same amount of 360 on every panel. That last pic is after half of the van before I flipped them over and did the rest. Nope, they did not gum up at all. Work time is pretty good. The best part is that 360 virtually vanishes leaving nothing to cake up and dry hard. Removal is one of the best I've seen. Did it remove swirls? Heck yeah........look at the scratches it removed with only a mild pad!

Justin we need to chat, you are too good at your job! Well, I think I am going to binge and get some. So you work it until clear and wipe off, or let haze over? Pretty noticeable when it has broken down?

Andrew

Nice job on what must have been a ho-hum detail (ugh, minivans!), kind of hard as a detailer to get really enthusiastic over something like that...except when you have a new toy to play with. ;)

I have to agree with you about using the Edge system with the Cyclo, definitely smoother and pad changes are a snap!

Justin,

Great job as usual...Man, I thought you going fix that BIG DING on the left rear bumper.:D

Great job with 360.

A new toy with a huge playground saved me on this one Scott!

The EDGE system is a time saver and makes the Cyclo so fun to use..........and less vibrating.
