Detailed 2 Mercedes' on Spring Break (pics inside)

Had a wonderful time on Spring Break for the past 9 days. Liz and I went with another couple to stay at one of their parent's houses. It was in beautiful Jupiter, FL. We had an amazing time and part of our "Thank You" was me working on their vehicles.

The vehicles really needed a lot of attention but I didn't have many resources. This one will go down in the books proving Process > Products. Luckily my good friend lives in the area and dropped off some NXT Tech, AA Car Wash, and TOL Wheel Wash. Other than that, I had Armor All Original, Armor APC, and Armor Leather Cleaner/Conditioner.

I was pretty happy with how they turned out and the owners were floored. I wish I got before pics, but the SL500 had a large Coke purposely dumped in it while the top was open. They only wiped down the seats and the local detailer said the stains would be there for life...yeh right :). Happened like 8 months ago and I got it all out with my own little concoction. The rest was done with the above products and plenty of elbow grease.

S500 - designo Edition

An absolute amazing machine. I can't say enough good things about this car. I love it so much I'm contemplating a used one over a brand new TL/FX35 when I graduate in a year. Just everything in the car is top notch, plush, and STRONG. Sorry, no pics of the Chocolate Brown Interior :(. The paint was a pretty amazing color :).

Enjoy!

And, oh yeah, I now hate the Northeast.

looks great, especially w/ the limited products you had to work with. Glad you had a great spring break, i just got back from a trip w/ my g/f, it was awesome.

Sean, I know what you mean about the S Class. I did a makeover on the interior of one last week and it was simply amazing the quality of the materials used in various places.

Nice work on the paint.

Robb: Spring Break is such a needed break :D.

SpoiledMan: Top notch appointments. I was very taken back with the quality leap over other vehicles. It is truly a benchmark vehicle.

Great work Sean. Jupiter is one ritzy and beautiful place. Sarasota is up there too.

The S Class is a great car. Very well constructed.

Nice as always!

I've never been impressed by the interior of the S Class...except for the designos. All the materials from the designos are the same used on the S600, softer leather, leather dash, better woods, nicer headliners. The interior of the "base" S500 and especially S430 are pretty bland IMHO.

Thats a designo espresso edition, they also did a designo silver edition that year, the silver was more expensive and even nicer.

Nice job! I'm guessing the paint process was NXT by hand? Your pics show just how good an off the shelf product it really is.

Don't leave the northeast just yet, someone on another board was looking for a detailer in CT and I sent him your information. BTW, nice website! :wavey

Thanks all!

Pat: I dk, the people in PA don't like my car too much ;).

Steve: Silver nicer than a flakey black?! :D No matter what, its an amazing machine. They have an '05 S600 at their house in NJ in which has a suede headliner and they say is even more plush. Mercedes is impressing me more and more.

Scott: I greatly appreciate it. I think I might've gotten an email from them. Not positive as I had a bunch upon my arrival yesterday.

Mike: No kidding. I was stunned by the overall paint condition of every car. You could literally wash your car once every 3 weeks and it would still look better than a car here after 3 days.

wow, nice work sean!

and the s-class i sat in a few years ago at a car show was nice. i thought the cup holder in the center console was really neat! although i did not like how the seat controls were by my knees.

and i love hawaii's sunny weather! ;)

Beautiful work on beautiful cars. Man you have the gift! I followed an S500 AMG into work today, black with chrome rims. WOW! What a sexy yet classy car.

Nice work on the SL:up Do you mind sharing how you got rid of the coke stain that sat there for 8 months on that beautiful interior?;)

Thanks ;).

I used a mixture of 1 gal. hot water, 1 table spoon of cheer, and 1 table spoon of color safe bleach. I mixed the cleaners first, then added the hot water. I used a scrub brush and crappy MF towel to agitate. Then I used a clean MF with fresh water, to help wash away any remains. I would suggest a small carpet cleaner for this part though.

Not so much the color, just the package. The silver is a tannish silver and is actually pretty pukey. The espresso was the cheaper of the two designo packages and the silver had a nicer interior.

Cool beans Steve.

Just talked to them. Their new SL is the designo in that silvery color. Depending on the light, it's silver/tan/pearl white. Pretty insane.

Kudos to Mercedes for the custom color options :up.
