Detail Related New Years Resolutions (2017)

What`s in the cards for 2017 related to detailing for you?

I have a couple plans off the bat that will start once I get off work today.

Finalize pricing for 2017 (2016 was a year of growth and realizing I was undercutting my own good work)
Organize my crazy looking garage (the struggle is real)
Build a website for my business (or have one built)
Going to start offering limited mobile services this year again as well (mostly interior and maintenance packages for existing clients)
Purchasing much less than last year (last year I swear I spent 90% of my detailing money on more products)- only major thing I`m eyeing is a paint reader that will read non metal surfaces
Actually keep money in my business account and build it up (like it was meant to be used)

So what are your plans? Big or small..this is the place to share them (I didn`t see any previous thread of the same nature)

I`m looking at a getting ptg, ibrid nano, and better steamer hopefully, although the ptg I`m looking at is over $2k. Also hopefully get a variance to work legally out of the shop I`m working out of now and business permit as well.
Hopefully my wife will get a logo that I`m happy with and get a website as well, but with a new baby who`s 5 months yesterday is a little more difficult as he is already on the verge of crawling.

Nice! so many of mine are very similar to yours Brandt.

Complete 40 Paint Correction Jobs. 2016 I completed 10. I did not advertise much and go for it but I need to do more word of mouth and hand out more business cards.
Spend less money on detailing products and use what I have before I buy anything else.
Organize and clean up garage and put up new lighting. Need to install new outlets in garage. Currently only 2 and its a real PITA with so many extension cords all over the place.
Offer limited mobile detail services. Probably utilize Rinseless washes for AIO and small corrections, maintenance, and interiors as well.
Purchase a PTG that actually works. Probably the Highline Meter II to start out for this year.
And finally just keep learning and educating myself more and more on detailing with this awesome group here!

Happy New Year everyone!

I have a lot of the same resolutions as you.

Already ordered my Square credit card swiper. Once it comes in I will be able to start accepting credit cards.

I have also been thinking about having a website built.

I have already started being a little more cautious as to how much I buy.

I also need to get a little bit more set with some pricing.

I would like to advertise a bit more too.

First of all, waste more wax!

Also, I`ve been trying to get into the distribution side of detailing for awhile. I`m hoping this year I can make a deal to distribute and develop a full line of detailing products. It`s been a goal of mine for years. I`m not in it for the money, I just want new and innovative products that help all detailers.

Promise not to buy stuff I don`t need.

Giving stuff I don`t want to people that do.
I`ve got Nattys Paste (red, blue, black) and Liquid Waxes (red, blue) that I don`t think I`ll be using since I met FK1000P.

easy_ the red paste is now a strawberry air freshener and the blue is cotton candy :)

I find myself using them on my die cast model cars (and I think it`s just to fill the room with their wonderful scents).

fk is awesome stuff, but it`ll Never replace my Nattys (for my vehicles at least)

If you get to that point and you need help testing let me know

To get a more regular stream of work, and a much higher volume of work overall. Should definitely be possible, since I only really did jobs in the summer, and I will be working year-round now.
And to get a new buffer from Griot`s warranty facility ASAP!!

Own at least a Rupes mini and 21 MK 2 with lots of pads
more paint correction jobs
accept cards and Apple Pay (I`m already getting a square reader in the mail)
get my business license and work with the car auction near by

I gotta send mine in as well...just never seem to get around to it lately.

Not to buy so much detail stuff.

Hopes and dreams of the New Year look so practical and within reach...until that first "25% Off, Free Shipping, No exclusions" banner rolls across the home page.

Hoping to find a little more time for detailing. New job has dried up my detailing time. Definitely need to be wasting more wax.

@budgetplan1 I had to send mine in quickly, I need it back ASAP for jobs! I think they should get it Tuesday, so I expect to have one at my door about a week after that. Cost me $20.85 to ship it, which kinda sucked, but better than $130+ to buy a whole new machine
