I am new to detailing for cash and am curious what you guys do when you have appointments and it is raining cats and dogs. I have a garage and can do everything I need inside but when its raining and flooded outside , its kinda a bummer ...... Just curious.

Well they get to see their car shinning in your garage and then watch the water roll off as they drive in the rain. The next time they clean it they will see how easy it cleans and admire that shine all over again. Can't ask for anything more than that. :)

Yes..some folks get there vehicles done regardless of weather...but those clients are few and far between.

Here are a few shots of me detailing in the rain...

I think your going to have to re-schedule. Its better to have to go back and do the job right, have the custmor happy and pass on your name then do it in the rain and have them not as happy. I think this is one outa your hands

If rain storms are predicted for the weekend I try to line up interior only details. I haven't tried to sell a detail on a rainy day. Yet.

rain basically mean no money for me. I might try doing discount prices on rainy days, cuz ive seen it rain for a week straight

I have an idea:

Offer a RAINCHECK to good customers. It means that if it is raining or snowing on the day you do a Full Detail of $150 or more, they get a free wash another day that week.

Sure, you lose an hour of your life on a non-rainy day, but it gets you a few hours of work on a crappy day.

I have a weekly wash cutomer who gets her car cleaned no matter what. I go pick it spend time do a great job and it keeps her happy.
