Detail for Porsche that lived in a muddy pond - Atlanta Car Detailing Detailed Designs Auto Spa

Jean-Claude

Keeper of the beautiful
The owner was a gentleman who was looking to have his wife’s 2001 Porsche Boxter S with 19k miles on it detailed. He had called and visited quite a few car detail shops in Atlanta. But as you can tell from the pictures, this was not a black and white detail situation. There were unique concerns with this car.

He said he spoke with quite a few shops that were much cheaper but after his consultation with me, he decided to use my detailing business Detailed Designs Auto Spa. He later told me that after only 5 minutes of speaking with me face to face he knew he found the right shop. In short, we don’t upsell and our goal is to isolate the concern areas and focus on those. In this case, there were a lot of concern areas. :)

His story went along the lines of this being his wife’s car. It normally gets driven very little during the week by his wife and lives outside.

He didn’t want paint correction. He and his wife just wanted shiney and clean.

The deep cleaning and decontamination(fancy words for a mack daddy car wash) took about 7 hours. Paint saw an AIO -Polyseal. Interior got the fully monty. The passenger seat has a bit water stain that didn’t budge much. All the knobs and most of the vinyl had cigarette tar covering it. Door jambs and hardware looks about the same as the exterior.

WOW!  That cleaned up nice!

(Maybe there's a picture limitation within a single post??)

What a project. I'm suprised that the interior was not as bad as the exterior. Do they live at the end of a dirt road? WOW, that's major trashed! Very nice result. It's no wonder that he did not want paint correction. I guess the saving grace is that it looked like the car was never washed therefore less damage to the finish. NICE.

The interior didn't have the coating of easy to see dirt, but it is a smoker's car and had a lot of nicotine/tar coating everything. The radio knobs were sticky. The owner said she didn't even touch the radio because of how nasty they felt.

It smelled good and felt really nice when we were done with it.

They wanted clean & shiny, did they?

Clean & all shiny she is mate. Nice job there. This is indeed called "detail"ing.

In other words, he didn't care for paint restoration. He knew it wasn't going to be taken care of well enough afterwards to merit all the time and money needed for paint restoration.

Clean and shiny, never mind the stuff that drives us nuts, took me a while to adapt to that and now I'm happier. You did a great job!

Mother of God....who the heck does that to any car let alone a Porsche. I'll never get over how gross some people are. What an outstanding cleanup job you did.

That has to be hands down the filthiest Porsche I've ever seen. Good job cleaning it up!

Thanks Scott. When he arrived in the car it was like someone bringing me a gift. I was ecstatic at the idea I got to work on it and bring it back to life. :D
