might want to consider swapping a QD like clear pearl for the Final inspection if you are topping w/ blitz. Some glass cleaner might be an item of interest too...

If your car has leather interior, you may want to pick up some leather care products. Leather seats can really take a beating in the winter months.

I second this, and I've read you can't really apply anything to leather when it gets below about 50 degrees...

It can be tough to condition leather in the cold. The leather does not absorb the conditioner very well when it is cold out. I always clean and condition my seats real well before the cold sets in.
 
Get EF Clear Pearl. <strong class='bbc'>MUCH[/b] better than Final Inspection. Also, EF Hi Intensity is a staple in my garage!;)
 
You certainly don't need to dump the Blitz for Souveran. For winter use, Souveran would be one of the LAST waxes you would want to use. Stick with Blitz. It's much more durable and is an excellent wax. Hi-Intensity and Clear Pearl would be two products that I would also recommend to you. Laters.
 
I plan on putting multiple layers of Klasse Sealant Glaze so I would not want the wax in Clear Pearl affecting the bonding of the SG. Meguiars FI does not have waxes or silicone added to mess with the bonding. At least that was what someone posted in a letter from Meguiars.
 
One wash with shampoo and any residual effects of EF Clear Pearl are washed away. It works fine if you want to layer KSG. I have used this method, and enjoyed the benefits of EFCP's superior shine for several years.
 
I was wondering what the concensus was as to the "procedure" of say... a "standard" (if there is such a thing?) detail? Basically I'm concerned with discussing the sequence of events, not how to do them... plenty of information on that.

Certainly the wash process comes first, I usually do the wheels before the rest of the car. After the wash process, I'd like to know what you guys usually do... not in detail, just the steps... for a basic detail.

Here's what I do post 1st wash:

1. Clay, if needed. Then re-wash.
2. Wheels... polish, clean tires, seal tires, then seal the wheels.
3. Interior... vac., trim, carpets, clean the leather, treat the leather. Clean
the sills/seal the door sills. Treat any vinyl parts.
4. Correct/polish exterior finish and do the chrome/pipes etc. Re-wash.
5. Apply sealant. Two coats, with 24 hr. cure time in between.
6. Wax or apply Zaino treatment if going that route; per manufacturer's
directions.
7. Windows.
8. Black/rubber trim/moulding clean and treatment .
9. Re-vacuum, touch up windows, go over entire car and clean up any bits of
dried wax etc. Final inspect the car for any defects and correct.
10. Take a few minutes to enjoy a (hopefully) excellent job, lol!


Please feel free to correct any mis-steps in this sequence above... or chime in with a better idea... that's why I posted this thread.

Next, I ALWAYS do the interior! I hate interior work so I want to get it out of the way, especially if it's a large, trashed SUV! :banghead::cursing: Get 'er dun!:StarWars:

Then I follow your steps, taking pictures along the way.

A quick squirt of Z8 immediately before the customer shows up!!!:biggrin:
 
Process seems legit, just try to be as efficient as possible when you can... like do an interior while LSP is curing or clay after you rinse off the soap to avoid have to dry and re-dry the car etc.

You'll be fine, enjoy it!

I'm into doing interiors, don't know why but they don't bug me.

I'm with you on the Z8... it just puts the icing on the cake. Very fine product.
