Desert Car Kings

I went to Finishmaster's today to get some detailing supplies. The guy behind the counter suggested I get this carnauba wax that comes in a tube. I think it's kind of like the consistency of toothpaste. It's made by a company called The Treatment. Anyone heard of this stuff?? Is it any good?? The counter guy was raving about it.

Never used it, never heard of it and I've been detailing for 24 years ....... crap, I'm younger than that.

I'm just kidding, this is the first time I heard of the stuff.

The show on Discovery. The "acting" is terrible, but its still a fun car show. Watching the one with the Studebaker.... after they painted it, they wet sanded it (the technique sent shivers up my spine), and then seeing the "buffed" car in the sunlight.... YIKES! Fast moving cameras and non-HD make it easy to hide bad detail jobs, but even that couldn't hide the horrific trails and swirls. It was honestly probably the worst I've ever seen, even with all the time on the forums. You guys should watch that episode if you can. Wow...X_X

I saw an episode once, around two weeks ago on HDTheater. They restored a late 60's Trans Am for around $15k. It sold at auction for around $20k, I'll admit, the paint finish was less than impressive, but it's nothing a good detail job can't fix. I think if you want a moderately priced restored muscle car, that's the way to go. I remember the main character's dad saying he want's to make restored muscle cars affordable for people.
If you watch the show "Wrecks to Riches", you'll see that the price of restored muscle cars can get into the stratosphere. BTW, if you want to see super nice paint jobs, check out "Wrecks to Riches" and "Overhaulin'".
