Dent puller

My Wurth sales rep came by this morning to drop off some samples. He say that my BMW 330i had a small dent on the top of the front passenger side fender (have no idea how it got there), and said he had a tool to remove it. Anyway, he loaned me the dent puller kit. I'm going to get it a try later today. I will take pictures so you can see how well it works. The kit is around $400. Might be a good add-on biz for some of you.

I did not have a chance to use it today, so I took a picture. It is a nice kit. The secret to the kit is the hot glue and the little tabs. The glue is strong enough to allow the puller to apply a few hundred pounds of pressure per square inch before the tab breaks away. The glue is then easily removed with Wurth Clean-Solve cleaner.

David-definitely keep us posted. Regular PDR classes run about $4000 (including tools) and takes a long time to perfect. If this product works, it would be a great upselling tool or an option for rainy days.

This is a tough one because it's right on the edge and there is a slight crease.

The tool clips on to the gule on tabs. You don't just give it a big squeeze, you gently squeeze and release 15 to 20 times to massage the dent out. The tab will finally give way, bringing the glue with it.

I was able to remove about 70% of this dent, making less noticable. If I keep working at it, I might be able to get it to 85%. To remove the crease, I'll have to go at it from behind.

I was very pleased with the tool's performance. If this was a normal door ding dent, it would be gone.

I don't know about Brad, but I'm going to pull off the wheel, remove the plastic wheel well cover, and massage it out with a nylon block and a body hammer.

Where can one of those be purchased?

That would be much cheaper than paying $75 per dent at the BMW dealer.

I don't know of anyone who keeps it in stock. If someone says they are interested, I will get actual pricing from my dealer. He said it was around $400 (list price) for the kit. The kit does not include the glue gun (any standard hot glue gun will work).

David-got a link for the kit?

Like I said, my rep dropped by and left it with me. I don't really have any info yet. When he comes by again, I will get the full information and let you all know. If several people want to buy the kit, I will see if I can get a special price.
