Deep Cleaning Leather

It’s time I do something about my stock leather back seat in my Mustang. I’ve been keeping it quite clean but it’s still soiled and dirty to my standards (and everyone else’s here, I’m sure). It doesn’t look bad but it’s definitely not Autopia Member quality :)

I’ve tried a few leather products in the past and nothing is even close to working. I have the same problem with my white convertible top, but that’s another story :( All those products seem to only clean the very top surface of dirt if anything, and only make the clean parts cleaner. They barely help on the dirty areas. I know you guys have ideas on how to fix this, so let me have it. I have new seats up front that are as white as snow, and these rear seats are killing my overall appearance!

The PO of my BMW left a bad spot on my rear seat, it appeared more glossy than the surrounding leather and was stiff/hardened to the touch. Perhaps a spilled coffee? I used Surflex leather softener followed by Lexol cleaner and it did soften the leather and get most of the "stained" appearance out. I'll speculate that as leather ages and hardens a bit it traps dirt/stains etc. and by applying a softener it will let you "get to" the dirt or stain. Good luck.

Give Leatherique a try,Iam confident that you will like the results. I thought my seats in the Vette where clean until I applied the Leatherique,I was amazed at the dirt that came off and they fell much more supple and softer.
