I'm trying to make a decision between these two cards. Any thoughts or feelings either way?

I'd post a poll and get you guys voting on it, but I seem to be stupid and can't remember how to do that. lol The 30s are kicking my arse I tell ya. :wall

I'm not married to either design, so go ahead and give me your thoughts. I am officialy out of cards and I NEED to make new ones right away. This order has to go in this week or else I'm going to be kicking myself next year. Little tweaks need to be made to the graphics still, but I am just curious on the composition and layout for now. I'll get things centered better and the lines adjusted right later.

There is no question in my mind. The top one is by far a more eye catching and professional appearing card. I will be surprised if any one states different.

Yeah, the layout and the vehicle on the card set it above the other one IMO.

I Like the top one better myself too. Is there any way to get the top part of?? the card to be like sticking out of the card so you can feel it????? i think that would be really nice just the top part with the car outline and your name Ocdetails

I'm actually having that part done in foil so that it stands out really well. Embossing would have cost too much, so foil it is. :)

I have to agree, the top one. If you were to use the second card I would be afraid people would think that you were somehow affiliated with Porsche and not be very willing to work on other makes of cars.

...you realize that is a Porsche on the first one too as well, right? lol That second one is actually the reflection on the hood of a Lapis Blue Porsche taken a few years ago. Don't ask me why they both happen to be Porsche pictures. They just seemed to work for the card. People tend to associate Porsche with quaility and high end work anyway, so I thought it was a good icon to put on there. Obviously I'll detail anything, but I wanted something to speak to them when they looked at it.

It looks like the top card has it. :) Thanks for your opinions guys. I actually just threw that top one together today while I was trying to figure something out. I wasn't sure if it was looking right though. You know how you can be really good at something as long as it isn't for yourself? lol I"m most critical of my work when I know I'm the one who has to live with it. It took five years just to come up with any type of logo other than the simple text of 'OCDetails'. I'm happy with that card though and I'll let you all know how they turn out. I'm getting it printed through VistaPrint.com as usual. They do great work. :bigups

FWIW.. Porsche is highly protective in the outside use of their branding. I know this first hand from working with an auto dismantler who's received more than one cease and desist letters regarding their use of the Porsche shield in phone book advertising. Even though in your case, you have an artistic license to use your images, you may be stepping into intellectual property rights when using the second card.

I went with the top one as well, the bottom one appears to be alittle to busy with the clouds. Also with the Porsche logo, I don't know if its any type of usage violation, however people may see that and think you work on Porsches primarily...

The top one is simple yet effective.

I like the top one out of these two. Only thing that bothers me is that horizontal line...my eye is drawn to that more than anything. The bottom card has too much going on on it.

Nice work though! Hope it scores you some business!!

Know that you mentioned the horizonal line...lol thats all I see...:D

I'll take the horizontal line out and see how it looks. I can't remember why I left it in there... I think I needed it on one of the variations that evolved into what it is and then I just never took it out. You are right though... it is kind of distracting. :bigups

For me the bottom one is the best less the Porsche logo...for me less is better on a card the focus should be on your company name and yours....I have a car in the back ground of mine but its faded out so that the letter gose over the top of it....making that the focal point....however both the cards are well designed and would do you justice

I agree with Dave ..I wouldn't put a car in as it takes too much attention away from your name and logo ..knowing your talent..you can do better ;)

What do you think would look good on the back? I've never put anything back there before and I'm thinking that I will this time. I have one detailing supply vendor that offers my customers a discount with a code, so I was thinking of putting that there. Any other thoughts?

If I were to put a discount on the back, i would do a discount for their next detail , # each card, and then retrieve and replace each card as it was used. Use the info to figure out who used it and how often etc..
