I was debating these 2 issues on another board and wanted to see what autopia says
1) If you wetsand and polish an entire car (every panel), is it possible to do it without leaving ~any~ tracers behind
I say no because of the sheer effort and fatigue involved - eventually you will miss something from the sanding. (nb - I'm not saying the car will be covered in scratches after polishing, just that there will be the odd tracer here and there)
2) Will a pressure washer marr the paint? (assume properly adhered paint, no problems like peeling paint, and marring being micro-marring like swirls et al)
I say no because it doesn't apply the 'right' sheer&load factors to do it. Not to mention since it sprays in a straight line, if it did marr the paint, then you'd have micro-marring in the pattern of a straight line across the entire car after pressure washing.
