Dawn Power Dissolver

I finally found something that will remove NXT from foam pads! I tried regular dawn before and the NXT just laughed at it. It just turned into wet sludge. I found some Power Dissolver under the sink, sprayed and left for 15 minutes, the purple pad that comes with the NXT paste looks like new again! Nice to have something that will break down the tougher LSPs that seem to not want to leave the pad!

Hm. Do you think it'll put Collinite 476S down, the "detergent-proof" wax?

I just tried taking IW out of my foam applicator pads...wow what a chore, first I gave it a few baths of dawn (just the regular soap) and then I gave it a few baths in dish washer detergent, finally went with a little degreaser and it broke it up pretty good.

845 and 476 have been non issues for me with regular dawn soaking (overnight). Z2 and NXT have been my biggest challenge, NXT paste more specifically. The stuff is sludge.

And people here say NXT has no durability!

I'm glad you found something. I haven't!

Give the stuff a try. Its $3 or so in the home cleaning stuff. Its meant for removing baked on food from dishes.

hum, for me, the toughest challenges have been totally cleaning tire dressing applicators... I usually just wash them quickly and let them dry, but never bother cleaning them totally because its darn near impossible

People really have problems with the NXT paste? I find that anything I use (detergent or dawn) usually takes it right out, I put the gel right on the pad and then work it in a little, then rinse with hot water and repeat the process and it comes clean in minutes, meanwhile the collinite pad looked clean until it dried a little and I can see where I left spots.

Do we live in the same country? I looked in my local grocery stores and none of them carries Power Dissolver. Where are you guys finding it?

I was in Wal-Mart today and found some. It was located with the dish detergents. At first I didn't see it, then I spotted a spray bottle up on the top shelf with the label turned so you couldn't see what it was. When I pulled it down I saw it was Dawn Power Dissolver so I bought a bottle of it. I haven't tried it yet, but I figured it'll be nice to have around just-in-case. I just looked at my receipt and it only cost $2.06.

I also got mine at Wal-Mart. I'm curious to see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

I've never used the Dawn Power Dissolver, but I doubt that it would be any more effective than just using a standard APC on pads or applicators.:nixweiss

perhaps, but I avoid using my APC (Meg's APC) on my towels and applicators because it says it has "fabric softeners and optical brighteners"... the last thing I want on my towels!

Here is a brief update on the Dawn Power Dissolver. I picked some up a while back but hadn't had a chance to try it yet. While in my garage Friday night I spotted a tire dressing applicator that I had used and washed with regular Dawn, but it did not come very clean. I decided to see how well the Dawn Power Dissolver would work so I sprayed half of the applicator and let it sit. Actually I forgot about it until today (Sunday) so I took it up to the sink and rinsed it out. Here are the results:

I was impressed, but then again I had let it sit for almost 48 hours. I then did the other half and let it sit for 10-15 minutes (the recommended time on the bottle) and it rinsed out almost just as clean. Since there isn't really much difference between the two sides I didn't bother taking a second picture.

Maybe an APC would have worked just as well, but for something from the dish washing section of Wal-Mart this stuff shows some promise.
