going to use a combination of these on a car I'm going to detail...what order do you think wold be best?? obviously NXT last(if at all)...but what do you think the combo would be

early 90 camry with rough paint (swirls, scratches, etc)...thanks!

ColorX is strong cleaner/wax that uses chemicals to clean and remove defects like oxidation. If youâ€â„¢re using DACP and NXT I really donâ€â„¢t see a need for ColorX between the two. DACP will remove much more than ColorX and NXT also has some mild cleaners in it. If I follow up with anything after DACP it is #80.

I would suggest that you clay the finish after you wash as a good prep for your detail.

Your order would be:

#83

ColorX

NXT

It will also depend on which pads you are using for #83. If you use a polishing pad, #83 can usually be followed up with a LSP. If you use #83 with a cutting pad, you will need to repeat #83 with a polishing pad. You may also find that the ColorX may diminish the results of #83?? I normally follow #83 with #81 or #7.

wow..Colorx diminish the DACP...I have DC#2...maybe follow the with that instead???and yes it will be polishing pads

ColorX is a strong cleaner/wax, I don't know how it would diminish DACP. It's just an unnecessary step after DACP if youâ€â„¢re going to finish up with NXT. DACP when used correctly on a polish pad will âہ“usuallyâ€Â leave the finish ready for your LSP (last step product). Sometimes you may need to follow up DACP with something like #80, you just have to inspect the finish afterwards and decide.

In any case, #80 is a good product to have around to clean up light defects and leave a really nice finish thatâ€â„¢s ready for your wax or sealer.

Is the DC #2 you are referring to âہ“Meguiarâ€â„¢s body shop professional diamond cut compound 2.0 (#85)â€Â or âہ“Megâ€â„¢s #2 Fine-cut Cleaner?â€Â If so I would not follow up with either of those. #85 is way too abrasive and like #2 is meant for use with a rotary (it has no diminishing abrasives).

Deep Crystal #2 is very close to Meg's Show Car Glaze but easier to use - still the Nxt would probably clean any of the oils imparted but DC2. I would go color X as #2 as it leaves behind a polymer protectant that the Nxt should bond to (similar to AIO).

DACP is not fine enough to be a final product before any topcoat. It may look like it on a light paint color but use it on a dark color and the haze will be readily apparent. You must follow up with #80 or 3M SMR. (preferably, as it is far superior)

ColorX, BTW is a pretty inconsistant product. You can do much better.

I been pleasantly surprised with ColorX...I'm going to try the DACP & ColorX combo...I'll try and post before and afters...thanks for the input though..
