DACP 0r 3m Finesse-It II Machine Polish

Here's the scoop. My wife's Aunt was over this weekend babysitting our 5 year old son. She happened to get a glance at our 2 cars and made a comment that she wished her car looked half as good as they did. Well my wife being the giving person that she is, offered my services and said I would detail her Aunt's car (ain't married life great?).

So after doing a quick walk around of her car I could see the paint wasn't in to bad of shape, and I should be able to take care of it with claying, some SMR and Blackfire with my PC. Upon further inspection I did notice a few areas on the bottom of 2 doors that had some decent oxidation present.

Since both of my autos are in excellent shape, the strongest thing I have on hand is the SMR.

So what would you folks use? As I said earlier I'll be using my PC. I've been doing some searches, and I get good reviews for both DACP and 3M's Finesse-It II Machine Polish.

Any suggestions are more than welcome, and not limited to the two mentioned products.

I know I can count on you guys.

For PC use DACP would probably be the better choice. 3M FI2 is also good but it takes forever to brakedown via PC.

PIII Machine Glaze! :up :up :up

PIII MG is more agressive than an SMR, but a bit less so than FI-II, IMO. It's much easier to work with than FI-II though . . . breaks down more quickly, much easier to wipe off residue, and leaves a slick finish whereas FI-II leaves more of a "squeaky-clean" feel.

I third the PI-III Machine Glaze...I purchased some ~3 weeks ago after reading the review by geekysteve and talking abit with Malibu...fantastic stuff...just like TortoiseAWD said, it leaves the surface very slick...and removes the swirls, not just fills them...I needed something that had a little more bite than the "traditional" 3M SMR and also something that did not have fillers...

Thanks for all the input everyone!:up

The 3M Perfect-It III Machine Glaze sounds very interesting, and I think I'll give it a try. Does anyone know who has it? I've checked a few on-line stores and I can't seem to find it.

Thanks.

What he said.:bow .

I used some this past weekend and this is one wonderful product. It is a non-filling SMR, which means it repairs those minor imperfects rather than hide them.

Check you local automotive paint / body shop supplier . :wavey

I have been using PI-III for a while now--I love the stuff! It fits the bill when you need something between DACP and SFP. I use it with the 3m black waffle polishing pads. Awesome!!:xyxthumbs

Thanks Black Lightning!:up I just finished with a search myself and it seems that's the only place on-line that has it.

Sure isn't cheap, at $25 a quart! But if everyone seems to endorse it, what the heck!

Thanks! :xyxthumbs
