D301 after sealant?

I just think it's funny that people are constantly looking for new things to layer. I can't figure out why that is. Did they buy a product that doesn't work? Then stop using it. I know the folks at the vendors have to love this because now we have to buy a zillion products and use them all at one time.

I'll just shut up now. I seem to have bugged a few people. Stop

BTW, I never said it's not good to know. Just throwing out my opinions which are not entirely guess work. I have tried a few products and have a pretty good idea what works.

You're doin' your thing, and I'm doin' mine, and it's all gravy. :)

I don't think it was asked if D301 is going to be comparable to any of the sealants you listed. What was asked was how durable it was on its own, and depending on how long that may be some people may choose to use it as their LSP, others may not, it all depends on what constraints are given to the detailer or what the desired results are from the user.

Different strokes for different folks.

:Swordfight: You make a good point.......

TRUCE!

Ok, so I started this thread but I like the conversation so thanks everyone for your input! I will always use BFWD anyway. I love the D300 and know now that I will either use D300 and D301 and leave it alone or top with another carbnuba OR use D300 and then M205 (or Menz Super Finish) and then BFWD. I was just experimenting and I used D300/301 and then DID NOT DO AN IPA WIPEDOWN and I know now the Menz Powerlock did not bond. I have little beading...hood and trunk just flat. Mmmm...anyway I was just experimenting. I know David said he used Powerlock after D301 and he said it worked but I was just curious if he did an IPA wipedown like suggested. Again, thanks everyone, good thread for me anyway! I am not a pro like many of you, just a weekend warrior! That said, I still think I have a pretty good idea of what works for me as well, like I said, I was just experimenting!

There's nothing wrong with experimenting, unless you plan on running for politics later. (sorry, bad joke) I like to try new products as well. I sure didn't mean to come off as a know it all. And I certainly didn't mean any offense. I won't cut the :chillpill: in half next time. I am always looking for a good AIO, I should try the d301.

Good Times!

We're all good!

If you guys have concerns on this system take the time to watch this hour and a half video! Its jason rose of Meguiars explaning everything about this system and they cover what to do in order for something to bond after d301. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=41cqDIJmtUY
Its pretty interesting, im sure they cover most of you guys questions!

Since I didn't do an IPA wipedown, I do know now that the sealant didn't bond. It was interesting cause it appeared that the hood and trunk had no beading. Then the hood and trunk had beading again. So I think what happened was once the sealant came off (since didn't bond) then the D301 was left and now that's what is beading. Just my own conclusion.
