CT Weather + 2 Stage Wash and QW = Shiny Winter Pics

Well, I have been just depressed since it is virtually impossible to detail in CT. It hasn't been above 32* in well over 3 weeks. I have been doing the Coin-Op DIY Wash once a week (only drive the car like 2 days out of the week which is good).

Today, it got WARM, 26* and Sunny. :bounce If you want to call that warm, but it felt warm to me.

I went to the Coin-Op Car Wash Last Nite and did soapy water rinse over the whole car, then the underbody, then straight water rinse. Oh yeah, I know people said it was bad to use recycled water (this place uses it), but I forget what is so bad about it? Any ideas?

Then today, I did a QEW Wash, then used Rain-X Fast Wax (reccomended by 'Eclipse550HP'. It all worked out well. Hit up the trim and tires with Armor All. Went over the interior...Did the windows, dash, and leather...Cleaned and Treated.

Please no flames on the salty fenderwells. I sprayed the sh** out of them last nite and drove about 100 miles total since the QEW. They then look like that. No use going crazy if they keep getting yucky so quickly. I will just continue to spray and soap them every week to prevent corrosion.

Rain-X Fast Wax is a Spray Wax. It goes on easily and comes off without streaks. I used it on dry, clean paint, but the bottle says you can use it on wet paint (after cleaned). I didn't want to try because I thought QEW would affect the way it worked. Overall, it brings up the shine a little more and slickens the paint. I'm sure I will be using this on customer's car's since its easy and quick (10 mins on my car). Nice finishing touch.

Enjoy!

Aww just look at that Sexy Teg . I have been useing Fast-Wax for a few years now and it has never let me down. You all should give it a shot. 5 bucks a Wall-Mart

Looks good! You gotta love that salt caked parking lot!

I'm in the same boat as you here in Jersey. The weather has been in the teens for weeks!

I've been taking my car to the automtic wash and I just have them pressure wash the hell out of everything before it goes in the tunnel of death. I don't even let them clean the wheels. Just pressure wash all the surface salt off.

Thank God I have rubber floor mats!

When I get home, I use some QD and tire dressing and that's it. The QD sometimes freezes on contact, that's how cold it is here.

Actually on Wednesday it is supposed to be 41 degrees, so I'll be doing a hand wash and depending on the surface condition, a coat of Collinite to protect for a couploe more months.

For the most part, detailing has been non-existent and my time outside is miserable.

Looking good. I hope and can not wait to hand wash my Jetta this week since the temp is going to be in the high 20's to low 30's.

Did Protect all change the QEW formula? As my QEw is a dark blue.
