Just One More Coat
A buddie of mine just brough a new 350Z and wants to set the clear coat up right from the start. I've already talked to him about some products and he wants an AIO because he hates to wax cars. I'd do it for him but he lives 5 hours away

Anywho he sent me a link on this product and I wondered if anyone has heard of it or used it.

Looks impressive, but the longevity is noting record breaking. Do you think you could talk him into buying some PB Polish w/Canauba topped with EX,a nd then sealed with something like R-2000 or similar.
 
I spoke to the guy and he said that the product cost is about $40.00 pre car. They charge about $400.00 for a car and you can either buy a kit that you have to use every 4 months for maintaince or you can come back in to them for the upgrade.

I'm going to there place in a couple of weeks to see what it is and MIGHT think of adding that to my services
 
They charge $400 for that??? Wowzers, thats some money making.

It doesnt seem all that complicated either. Do they only offer it on new paint? If they offer it on older cars, do you have to compound and polish the surface first?

Its got great margins in it, that's why I'm going to have a look.

Its a 3 step process and they have training for it. The guy said that you need ot prep the clear coat so it clean and adress the swrils. He said that the product will not take swrils and the likes of those out. So its more work than just there 3 steps.
 
So you would need to basically prep the paint yourself, and im assuming you would need 100% silicone and PD free compounds and polishes.
 
I received a sample of crystal guard a few weeks ago, but only recently used it on my car. Too busy with customers cars, and I never try something new on anything but my own. The process is simple, maybe too simple. After wash/prep as normal. you wet the car down, spray the product on the car, wipe in with a MF towel. The water is suppose to activate the chemical reaction. It's ok, no differant than my sealant I had on before. it has been 8 days since it was applied, I find that it does NOT repel water as well, and is harder to keep clean than my other products I use. So it goes with the other bottles of partially used sample in my shop. I'm not easy to please I guess. I don't like Zaino either, but thats another story. Gary
 
So its just spray on and wipe for each part of the setup?

That makes me wonder, because in the pictures of the Mucielago (sp) they show the use of a rotary.
 
Well I had the chance to go see the cars at Crystal Guard and got a sample. I used it on my Jeep and the Corvette. I think the cars came out looking great almost wet. For the money its high priced but easy to put on and does the job for me:crazy
 
Can the crystal guard setup be topped with anything? Im sure that Vette would come alive if topped with Paste Glaz, TS, or P21S.

I do not think there would be any product that could have made that car any cleaner or shinner than it was. My Jeep was the same.
 
This car was the quick or the one that you use to maintain the finish it was free. I used PB p[olish with carnuba to start then the quick spray.
 
There is a lot of controversy surrounding this product. I'd be interested to know what you think about it in 6 months, about how it looks and its value. Pinnacle Souveran is considered outrageously expensive at $60 a can, but the jar lasts for 30 applications and its appearance is unquestioned.
