A personal friend of mine wanted me to detail his stang so we traded cars for the day and my process was as follows:

Exterior:

-Wash with NXT Wash

-Clay with Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay

-Optimum Polish via Orang Pad PC x 2

-Poorboys EX-P by hand

-P21 S Caranuba wax by hand

-Wheels washed with NXT wash, used my new meguiars wheel brush to get inside the wheels (works great btw!)

-Meguiars Hot Shine via applicator pad

-NXT Glass Cleaner

-Poorboys Trim Restorer (Soon to dye with forever black)

-Exhaust tips cleaned with Blue Magic Metal Polish Cream

Interior:

-Vacuum

-Carpets spot cleaned with Woolite spray

-Floor mats shampooed with Downy detergent :chuckle: (works awesome btw)

-Door panels cleaned with diluted simple grean (tan really attracts dirt)

-Door panels/dash/console dressed with Poorboys Trim Restorer

-Leather cleaned and conditioned with Poorboys Leather Stuff

Wow great job man, the color and the flakes are incredible. :xyxthumbs

I always wondered about those scrub brushes for the wheels have you tried it out on a really dirty wheel before?

Amazing flake with that Crimson Red, gorgeous color. Beautiful work on the entire car, I was wondering about the Meg's wheel brush too. It was the only one I didn't pick up when I bought the rest of the Meg's brushes at Big Lots. It seemed a little too rough and I was afraid it would scratch the finish on wheels. How did you find it?

those are like the only model mustangs that i ever liked. :), great job! I think i'm giong to try that wheel brush that you're talking about. Does that work well for wheel wells too?

 @ that last shot!

Excellent swirl removal, the paint looks about as flawless as it can get.

Ditto on that one Scott!

Very nice job. The clear looks an inch thick now. Never knew it had that MUCH metallic in it. You have to love Optimum Polish. Was it the new formula?

You do outstanding interior work as well sir.

I really didn't use it on the actual wheel surface, I just scrubbed the insides of the wheels due to the fact that it was fairly rough like you said, and as for trying it on a dirty wheel Mr. Cool, his rear wheels were very dirty on the insides and the brush worked great, I used some all purpose wheel cleaner on the insides (I don't like using acidic cleaners on the powdercoated or even regular wheels for that matter) let it sit for about 20 seconds and scrubbed them vigorously, works great and you don't have to take the actual wheel off! :2thumbs: , the brush can be found here, Meguiars Gold Class Ultra-Safe Wheel Brush is a large wheel brush made with hundreds of soft, flexible bristles that will not scratch delicate wheel

Thankyou, the flake was awesome after I was finished :woot: And the Optimum Polish was the new formula, I love it, its such a great polish that I don't even want to try any other brand name products!!! I worked everything in direct sunlight, 72 degrees, and I still had a long working time and could see how long my defect removal took, it was great!

Thanks for your thoughts on the brush. It's about what I thought it would be like. I have an Oxo good grips wheel brush which works great and really holds up. I've never had it scratch a wheel either. It has good reach and I was able to get right to the back of the Bullitt wheels on my brothers 2006 Mustang. It's amazing how dirty they get with even a little driving. You've got to love those brake pads Ford uses. Glad I sealed them and keep a good coat of Wheel Wax on them. Your work is amazing, it made me want to find a 40th anniversary edition like your friends car.
