So i tried to get the water to bead on my sisters car again, but i figured the best way would be to polish the glass clean. I used SSR 1 on the glass on a PC at 6 after invisible glassing it, claying it. However, What i ended up noticing today was that theres some slight micro marring on the glass....I don't know if it was natural or caused by the PC. Can someone help me with micromarring on glass and how to get rid of it, also can someone tell me how you can get water to bead on glass w/o the use of rain-x or some product that keeps smearing? Thanks.

I have trouble believing that SSR1 and a PC would cause micromarring on glass.

Perhaps after doing that routine, you actually cleaned the glass enough to reveal some imperfections that were there before.

For beading, just keep your glass cleaned well. Invisible Glass helps glass to bead so you could continue using that, or go with a sealant or carnauba, although there is a possiblity of smearing.

Contrary to some comments in another thread, road grit (rock) is very hard (harder than glass), and will scratch it quite easily. Glass is much harder than paint, but not as hard as rock. The problem is, you can polish the scratches out of paint, but not really out of glass. Yes, there are some polishing compounds and techniques for glass, but I don't think anyone here has posted any success stories about removing even light cobwebbing from glass.

Bottom line: I don't think you caused the scratches unless the window wasn't clean when you were polishing it. Any wax/sealant should get you beading on the glass, not sure you will be happy with the wiper performance--some people don't like it. A common glass choice here is Clearkote's Vanilla Moose; this will chemically clean and polish the glass, while leaving some wax behind.
