Could 845 be considered a cleaner wax / 1 step

Since it has solvents like every liquid wax I wondered if applying by a PC how it would work out as a cleaner/1 step pre 476 or 915 .



Although this is like such an easy wax to use and its so watery it probably would be a waste of product.



If you don't think it would be a good cleaner/wax /polishing type what is good to use for prep on 845/915/476 ??
 
I never saw it exhibit qualities of a cleaner-wax. You can always go with AIO first, then 845.
 
845 has absolutely no cleaner properties. On SS paint, you don't even get any paint transfer.
 
OK, there's always some degree of cleaning from most anything (e.g., even Souveran paste wax) and yeah, 845 might be a little on the solventy side (but not all *that* much IMO). But nah, no real cleaning. If your applicator ends up dirty from doing 845 I'd say you shoulda done some kind of prep first.



There are plenty of *VERY* user-friendly products that can do a little quick cleaning without turning the whole thing into a huge project- KAIO, Autoglym SRP, consumer-line polishes frm 1Z, paint cleaners like Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion, even just some cleaner-wax.

The 845 on a polishing pad with DA and with some pressure can surprise you OP. Accum is right in that the cleaning on pure solvency alone in this is really actually impressive.
 
If you need a good 1 step cleaner wax, I really like Mother's. It has a nice strong chemical cleaner that seems to work well on hard water spots and tar. Its probably about mid pack as far as abrasives go and leaves a nice shine.

ZAIO is still a vastly superior in polishing ability and I'm guessing durability. The OP was asking about a wax, hence the Cleaner Wax. The only thing about Mothers that might be better is it seems a bit easier to use, but ZAIO isn't hard by any means.
 
if you looking for something to apply prior to 845 that has some cleaning abilities, go with Optimum Poli-Seal. I've used that combo numerous times and it works great.
 
yakky- OK, roger that. I was just wondering and thought I'd ask while I had it in mind.



And yeah, the ZAIO does seem to be lasting longer than I'd expect with a conventional cleaner-wax, and by a pretty good margin.
 
I'm glad there's more talk about 845 lately. Although I reserve it for my wheels, I can report it stands up very nicely and I only reapply about seasonally or so. Great resistance to mild sprinkler spray too, QD's right off and the surface of the wheel still feel reasonably slick.

I think that's more the mechanical action of the pad than the 845. The 845 probably provides the lube for the pad's correction.

Cheaper too. It's good, honest cleaner wax that works well and looks great.
