Costco MF?

Hey everyone I had a question about Costco's micro fiber and whether it is safe to use on automotive finishes. I stay in So Cal and they cost around $12 for a 36 pack (yellow in color). I know they are cheap China made towels so I am a little skeptical.

you can try using them on the paint, and if they work for you go for it. most use those towels for the dirtier tasks (interior, door jams, etc.)

These come up frequently, and I think the general consensus is that they make great interior towels and general cleaning, but most folks are hesitant to use on their paint. I've used them a few times to wipe up qd spray from claying and have never noticed any negative effects. However, I wasn't too concerned as I was going into polishing afterwards.

Like mentioned already, they're a good buy but I use it for cleaning glass (the drying pass) and on dirtier jobs. If you want to color coordinate your mf towels, Sam's Club sells mf towels also of similar quality but you can pick from a variety of colors. You can't go wrong with the price, as the good towels that you use on paint costs about $5 a towel.

I did the blank CD test and they cause minor scratching where my expensive microfibers do not. I know the clear coat is stronger than a blank CD but wouldn't you rather use something that does not scratch at all on your pain. I agree with the talk about using it in door jams and for rims etc.
