Our Costco also has a packaged set of Gold Class wax with Gold Class QD. I haven't seen the GC QD anywhere else so I assume it's custom packaged for Costco. Anyway, I don't remember the price, only that it was very reasonable.
I like the (
Eurow brand) microfiber wash mitts I got at Costco.
I think they're fine for washing the car as long as your technique is compatible. The chenille pile is terrific,
very soft, seriously gentle and really effective.
No, they aren't ideal. The backing cloth is very stiff and I wouldn't want to touch paint with it. That's not a problem if you don't bear down on it. The yarn does tend to grab onto corners and snag on emblems and such.
Some would argue that they tend to hang onto things that may scratch. True, but so does every other wash accessory so some degree. I haven't found them to be any worse for dirt and grit but I believe they are for sticks, stems, leaves and barbed wire. Not that I ever find those things on my car after initial rinsing. Perhaps that makes them ill-suited for QEW but I think they work very well for normal washing.
They'll probably fall apart faster than other mitts but for the price they don't have to last too long to be cost effective. They're easy to clean, I just toss them in the washer.
