Costco deals

Found a few things at Costco today:

1.25 gallon of Meguiars Goldwash for a little under 8 dollars.

5 pack of Microfiber wash mitts like the one here for 9.69. Not so good for washing your car but great for wheels and interior.

Our Costco also has a packaged set of Gold Class wax with Gold Class QD. I haven't seen the GC QD anywhere else so I assume it's custom packaged for Costco. Anyway, I don't remember the price, only that it was very reasonable.

I like the (Eurow brand) microfiber wash mitts I got at Costco.

I think they're fine for washing the car as long as your technique is compatible. The chenille pile is terrific, very soft, seriously gentle and really effective.

No, they aren't ideal. The backing cloth is very stiff and I wouldn't want to touch paint with it. That's not a problem if you don't bear down on it. The yarn does tend to grab onto corners and snag on emblems and such.

Some would argue that they tend to hang onto things that may scratch. True, but so does every other wash accessory so some degree. I haven't found them to be any worse for dirt and grit but I believe they are for sticks, stems, leaves and barbed wire. Not that I ever find those things on my car after initial rinsing. Perhaps that makes them ill-suited for QEW but I think they work very well for normal washing.

They'll probably fall apart faster than other mitts but for the price they don't have to last too long to be cost effective. They're easy to clean, I just toss them in the washer.

I have used the Eurow brand wash mitts from Costco and they are excellent. Extremely soft and plush and have not left a single scratch on any blank CD that i have tested. I agree that the backing cloth is rather rough though however, but you would have to be pressing hard as hell on your paint for it to have contact.

Don't think that just because they are a bargain they are of poor quality!

just bought another 1.25 jug of the gold class for $7.89, and from what i was told from a megs rep... you never know if once costco depletes their stock if they will ever stock them again.
