Correcting light orange peel

The new corvette I have has perfect paint on the horiz surfaces but the vertical surface have a hint of orange peel..not severe at all...I do not want to wetsand.....can I create a uniform surface with some MF meg's cutting pads on a GG6 with something Like FG400? I do not want to use my flex rotary and wool for fear of getting non uniform surfaces....Or what other combo would you try?

Carpro has Denim and Velvet pads specifically for removing orange peel with a DA. While I haven't used them, I've read a number of very positive reviews. They are available from the store here as well as other sources.

Glen,

I have seen an article where Mike Phillips used these carpro pads specifically the denim one on a newly painted truck that had paint defects and it took them pretty much all out enough to make a significant difference, and he used a Porter Cable XP specifically to show that even with the weakest machine, it can be done - as long as you have pad rotation..

Looks to be a safer alternative then wet sanding and also easier to finish than wet sanding and then wool to bring back the gloss and maybe a couple more steps...

The article says that the denim pads are recommended for repaints that have a lot more paint than factory, and the velvet pads are recommended for factory paint..

Good luck with this !

Glen--you can always contact Corey at CarPro--he is very helpful and willing to talk. Every review I've seen has been these pads with DAs.
