Concrete and cement splatters on paint.

has anyone tried removing tiny splatters of concrete or cement from their cars?

The tiny bits have hardened.

Some people say, using the high pressure cleaner and blasting it from a short distance will shoot off the deposits. True? What other methods?

I had them on my Firebird for 3 years. I had to "pick" them off one by one with my fingernail! I tried everything. That stuff can really ruin paint. :furious:

I came across this a while ago and saved it if I needed it. Haven't had the chance to try it but will share it with you guys if it's worth anything:

Concrete Spots:

Calcified water spots on paint and glass, water and concrete spots are pretty much the same chemically - calcium carbonate, with the concrete being cross-linked with water

Methodology

•Apply 1:1 ratio water with distilled White Vinegar solution, and using a spray bottle, spray that mixture on the spots and let them "soak." Then rinse with water and repeat as necessary.

•If the ambient temperature water/vinegar mix does not work, warm (100-120 degrees) 100% distilled White Vinegar, saturate a clean kitchen sponge with pure vinegar and hold the sponge over the concrete spots for a few minutes.

•If the above do not remove them try equal parts distilled water, isopropyl alcohol and distilled white vinegar. The acid in the vinegar will help etch and dissolve the concrete.

•Rinse the area thoroughly with water after the vinegar and then reapply wax or sealant to that area.

The "vinegar method" was only partially effective. Thanks very much for the suggestion. Deeply appreciated:2thumbs:

I tried wetting the concrete deposits with WD40 spray, and keeping it wet for 10mins.

Then, used high pressure jet of water to blast the concrete bits. They came off slowly.

Re-wet with WD40, wait 10min, and wipe the area with an old rag. All concrete came off.

Washed with spoo to remove WD40 oiliness.

105 with W5000 wool pad on rotary (it was a black car)

106FF with Megs polishing pad (Flex)

85 RD with Megs finishing pad (Flex)

Swissvax Onyx pure carnauba.

Looks great!

Vaule Gaurd makes a really good product. I dont know if he works there anymore but Ron Ketchman can answer any question you have, he's a really smart guy.
