Compounding Haze that just won't shine

I had my tailgate on my truck detailed a while ago, and the so called pro detailer just went to work on my dirty tailgate with a woolpad x3 and some green chemical. Back then I was amazed at how quickly it removed swirls, then when I looked at it at night, it has a very cloudy look.

Today I tried 2xSSR2.5 w/Propel Yellow and 1x SSR1 with Green both at 5k with no difference. Should I try something more aggresive, try a few more passes of 2.5 or will it require rotary work?

Highlights in this picture are provided by the flash on the top right and a HID flashlight on the bottom left.

On the rest of the truck, the reflections are sharp and clear.

You definitely made a huge improvement, so you are very close. I'd say to just go over it a few more times with 2.5 before you move to something more aggressive like SSR3. Sometimes it takes several passes before you get the results you are after, patience is the key.

The photograph makes it look different, but those two pictures are the same tailgate pictures taken right after another. I guess it is time to take off the tailgate, put it on a bench and see what can be done.
